There was an emotional connection that overrated Kobe and his passing took it up (RIP).

There were times in the aughts I that Dwayne was better. Both Kobe's actual skill carried him into his twilight years.

I totally get him not being Top 10 or over Lebron. At worst...absolute worst, he's Top 20 ever. I could see people keeping him out of the Top 15...that's it.

This is a fact and it's so obviously true for most of them I don't know why cats lose their minds when this is suggested...

This is a fact, too...

Kobe is in my Top 10, but he's closer to 10 than 5. I don't really see a legitimate argument for him lower than 11 or 12 at the lowest, when you start lining him up with the next HOF greats that come after (Logo, the Malones, Chuck, Elgin, Admiral, Doc, etc). Those are like the #13-20 guys, more or less, and it's a tough ask to argue that any one of them were greater than Kobe on the whole...

Truth is there's a gap in greatness after the 12th guy or so...

What I will say is KD is currently in that #13-20 group with the potential to leap into the Top 10, all the guys at the bottom of the Top 10 are at risk of being jumped by Durant in the coming few years...

Back to Kobe, while I don't see an argument for him after 12 at the lowest, there are some damn strong arguments against him being Top 5; I honestly don't see how Kobe enters a Top 5 objectively speaking, and everybody knows that most heads don't consider Kobe Top 5, many don't have him Top 10, but you get major pushback from his large ass fanbase But he's Top 10 and Kenny tripping leaving him out especially for someone like Tiny Archibald lmao...

Anybody objectively could argue LeBron is the greatest player ever, to say he's just barely Top 10 is ridiculous. Kenny sound like a Coli nikka with that one...
Let me hear you objectively argue Lebron is the greatest player of all time:sas2:

Tiny Archibald is a South Bronx legend by the way.

He was a 30/10 guard decades before Russell Westbrook did it.

He's not top 10 but should be in everyone's top 50. When we talk about lil guys it's Allen Iverson and Isiah Thomas people forget Tiny who dominated at 6 foot 150 pounds he's just one of those forgotten 1970's guys. But he actually made the NBA's OG top 50 list.

Obviously by heads you mean baseheads...... it’s plenty of Ball heads that got Kobe top 5, let alone top 10

The way I see it Kobe has to be considered top 10 by default. When we're talking about G.O.A.T., there's an emphasis on greatest and Kobe was great by definition. MJ, LeBron, and Kobe are the most culturally influential players basketball has produced they have dominated the sport discourse over the last 40 years through highs and lows.

20 years. 18x All-Star, MVP, 5x Champion, 2x Finals MVP, 15x All-NBA, 12x All-Defense, 2x Scoring Champion, 81 points and various other legendary scoring outburts with this resume how can he not be top 10?

He has more longevity and accolades than both Magic and Bird. He's more skilled than both, he's more athletic than both, he's more culturally influential than both, as many titles as Magic, as many Finals MVP's as Bird. How can we not put him top 10? I got him 5th on my list with a criteria of skill, athleticism, dominance, prime/peak, accolades and records, cultural impact, longevity.
