Who is Kendrick trying to speak for, because he seems to believe he has a 'cause' or movement behind what he's rappin about.

But for someone who personally cares about the issues he's rapping about, he's not doing it in a way that's impressive from a message or lyrical standpoint. He's not exhibiting elite abilities while trying to be the voice of a generation. That's not what's hot, breh. You have to connect with the people in a very sincere and personal level in order to get the props Kendrick's fans want him to get.

Decent track, but will be forgotten in 10 days like the rest of his recent singles.

"American's Nightmare was given a Mic Booth" - NaS

I love Hip Hop when it channels this type of energy. Props K Dot. Has an Andre 3000 Outkast vibe while it has that Common Sense even a little Esco in there. I love it from 1st listen. HE WENT IN ON WHITE AMERICA that still supports the same White Supremecy that has kept Blacks in bondage mentally and physically for many many years. I'm sorry tell it like it is. After people questioned him calling him "c00ndrick" after his comments were taken out of context by a magazine. He wanted it to be known he knows what time it is. Oh and musically, Boi did this thing, love the last 30 seconds, and the Jazz influences.

This is revolutionary POETRY!

1st verse, taking shots are those white devils :wow:

2nd verse, taking shots at the sell-out black bourgeoisie elitist :wow:

3rd verse, taking shots at the ignorant hood nikka :wow:

And therefore stating the hypocrisy of American society towards the black man as a whole! :mjcry:

JUST. FUCCKIN' BRILLIANT! :lawd::salute::banderas:

of course not but he saying the same shyt kdot said on that last line. dot ain't the first to say something like that on record and pac is the most pro black rapper of all time :manny:

That Rolling Stone interview left a bad taste in peoples mouths:manny:...What Pac said was a valid and really just a thought and acknowledgement,not a pardon of white peoples evils....Same thing with the Kendrick statement,that line itself at face value is just something to think about.

The last line alone is not really c00nish to me,just self reflection:patrice:? What I DONT like about the song is the fact even with all the shyt he said against the system,the whole buildup of the song was how he was about to show how he was a hypocrite at the end of it all....somewhat negating all the shyt he said about the system and white supremacy.

ONLY because he made pointing himself out as a hypocrite to be the climax of the song,i hate to say it did kindve turn into one big "what about black on black crime" song....he failed by making that the main theme of the song,pointing out his hypocrisy....song may be deeper than I realize on first couple listens,its one you might have to sit with.

I don't hate it at all,but you gotta admit it took some of the edge out of the song with him doing that:manny:...if it was just one line in the song I don't think it would get that hate.

I was rockin with Koondrick up until thar part :comeon:

listen to that entire 3rd verse and understand the context. He was talking about those hood nikka that's willing to kill his own brother over ignorant beef, but shed a tear for Trayvon due to senseless murder.

Or do YOU support a black man killing another black man? How can someone kill his own brother and turn around and shyt on whitey for doing what you are doing? Due to hatred and prejudice? It IS hypocritical.
