I was rockin with Koondrick up until thar part :comeon:
i've noticed when Kendrick says something nikkas come up with 50 different interpretations of it so it doesn't sound as bad

talmbout "understand the context"

but let Pharrell or one of those other new blacks say the same exact shyt and those same nikkas didn't wanna hear NOTHING about no damn context, they took what they said at face value and roasted them for it, damn near rallying to boycott them and all

Yall do realize that Kendrick was not talking about every black person in that last line, right? just the ones who stay on that demonic shyt (the ones that should know better)

if it doesnt apply then it doesnt apply.

"I wish somebody would look in our neighborhood knowing that it's already a situation, mentally, where it's f---ked up. What happened to [Michael Brown] should've never happened. Never. But when we don't have respect for ourselves, how do we expect them to respect us? It starts from within. Don't start with just a rally, don't start from looting -- it starts from within."

I can understand why rappers dumb down their lyrics after browsing The Coli. People get stuck on one line and take shyt out of context.

Kendrick is not trying to change the context of what are being talked about. He is using the sudden rise of pro black movement that was awakened by the tragic deaths of blacks by cops, by questioning a big problem in the black community.
He is using this energy that is going on and is hoping to prolong the movement, not trying to dead discussion about the white oppression like some of you try to make it to be.

He even talks about the white oppression in the song FFS!

Kendrick is not making excuses for whites, hes not trying to down play cops killing blacks. Hes not doing any of this. He just chose not to focus on this. Why?

Because everyone else is "only" focused on this. The marches, rallies and twitter outrages almost only happens when there is a white person getting away with killing a black person.
Why cant we come together without the injustice of a white cop getting away with murder? Isnt the system unjust enough by it self?

There is nothing wrong in wanting justice and wanting the cops to be sent to prison when they abuse their power. But lets say we get a fair justice system.

Will black people stop being killed? No.

Stop calling another black man c00n just because he is fighting the power the best way he can think of.
We dont need another rapper telling us that the justice system is broken.

WE ALREADY KNOW THAT! And rappers have been rapping about it for years.

We need rappers that question the way that we treat each other.

Like the Buddhist saying goes. Change starts with your self.

:blessed: I need this album man I'm copping multiples of this bytch. Dude could easily sell out and do a easy pop/urban radio record but he's going all the way against the grain. as good as some of drake's music is..he ain't touching on the issues that most of his fanbase are dealing with. Kendrick will always have my respect because most of these dudes don't stand up to say anything. People are gonna run with that line but in the context of the verse he is not saying anything crazy..the use of c00n and new black are played out at this point cause its not used correctly 9 out of 10. gangs and our general self hatred are just as bad to our cause as racist cops..but we tend to only point the finger at the other side.

"and they say its the white man i should fear but its my own kind doing all the killing here" -pac

listen to that entire 3rd verse and understand the context. He was talking about those hood nikka that's willing to kill his own brother over ignorant beef, but shed a tear for Trayvon due to senseless murder.

Or do YOU support a black man killing another black man? How can someone kill his own brother and turn around and shyt on whitey for doing what you are doing? Due to hatred and prejudice? It IS hypocritical.

Those two things are diametrically different. :what: Are you saying that an unarmed innocent teen shot down by a racist white supremacist who was then let off by the court system and financially backed by other fellow racists the same thing as gang bangers shooting and killing each other? :what:

No, I'm saying those muthafukkas that are angry that an unarmed innocent teen shot down by a racist white supremacist would do the same to that unarmed innocent teen over some bullshyt beef like scuffing a nikka's kicks. That's the hypocrisy.
