Only 350? Wayne did a million on Carter 3 and that was when you had to get off your ass and go to Best Buy and get it. 50 did 1,150,000. Kanye did 957,000 copies first week. All cd era. Wouldn’t it be easier to steam and numbers higher?

That was a long time ago lol

The only way you’ll get 1 million first week is if your lead single or singles hit 10,000,000 streams, then you place the song (s) on the album.

It’ll do more than 350K first week. I’d put money on at LEAST 500k and it could go all the way up to 700K if he’s got DAMN like singles to proceed it.

Cole did 300k first week last year with no big single or video. Kendrick is more popular than Cole is.

Kanye did 309K with Donda after all those listening sessions and hype but the album was a disjointed mess. Kendrick is more popular and relevant musically than current day Kanye West.

The key is he needs a BIG single on Humble levels and a great video. Interscope’s marketing will surely take care of everything else as I cannot fathom him not being EVERYWHERE after the 5 year hiatus.

The only thing I want from Kendrick on this album is a song where hes going up against some spitters as guest features.

Like a modern day 1-Train type of song.

I get their argument but disagreement. DAMN did 603k first week, with 353k of that being physical copies, rest streams. It's the last rap album to go platinum off physical copies, and will likely be the last to ever do it. So their forecast basically says there's no way he does much off physicals this time, and when you add in streams it'll be 350k total. Problem with that is that streaming is way bigger now than it was in 2017. DAMN did about 350mil streams in its first week. For comparison, four years later Certified Lover Boy did around 740mil streams first week. CLB ended up at 613k, including 46k physical copies sold. Kendrick isn't Drake but the hype alone is going to get him an insane total of streams and he may even break or come close to the Spotify/Apple records.

My prediction, which may change depending on the single/video/etc...

450-500k total first week
60-80k physicals

Damn was bundled. It had a ton of pure sales specifically because of bundling (T shirts, Tour tickets, etc)
