DAMN def his best album after TPAB for me as well. Hope it will sound like one of these 2 but I'm not worried, it's kendrick, we know it's gonna be very special.

DAMN is right up there with his previous two.

Just because it's looser and less conceptual doesn't mean it isn't as good. I think it's his straight up most fun album to listen to. I have to be in the right frame of mind for TPAB and GKMC. DAMN is just banger after banger, while still having incredible songwriting and high level production.

To me DAMN is the work of a rapper who has mastered the art form and doesn't really need to prove anything. It reminds me of Hov's The Black Album. It's just effortless greatness.

I agree I love TBAP, One of the greatest albums ever created, but I have to be in my artistic avant garde, Eclectic, political black science Cornell West mindstate. Now don't get me wrong that Mindstate is very much apart of me and who I Am as a Man, but to appreciate the album more I have to be in that mood.

With Damn I get it all Gangsta, Spiritual, Social Political, musical artistic in a digestible form and it's a classic Album

I'm surprised at cold reception to DAMN.
I thought that album was his way of saying I'm not just artsy type of rapper, but I can make mainstream radio friendly records also.

I think with DAMN he pulled off the tightrope act of making a deep album with a message but also making it accessible to the masses
