I get that he killed Drake in the Beef but this album was bad…. Mostly cause I think it was a covid album and the pandemic clearly messed with his vibes.

I think the next album might be a return to form but this shyt is the opposite of what he should try to do next time.

shyt was a classic then and a classic now.

Folks gonna catch up in a few years. I’m not sure about the Easter eggs tho. I listened to the album for a month straight, when it released.

Every single day.

Essentially the takeaway is it’s a live therapy album where you’re getting raw emotion in the moment whether it be denial, acceptance, depression, etc, hence the 7 stages of grief concept…. Unless it’s something else I’m missing.

I give disc 1 a 7.5-8/10. It's good, but the production is ehhh...

On to disc 2.

I ain't gone hold you. I'm a huge Kendrick fan. I think he has one of the greatest catalogues for any rapper. But this shyt was pure mid. Mainly because of the production though. I skipped midway through Mother I Sober and skimmed around Mirror. That's how boring disc 2 was. This album disappointing as hell. I'm perplexed bruh lol.

I'll give it another listen in the morning. It's not what I expected at all and I might be unfairly judging it.

Only song I can listen to is Silent Hill. I can not describe how disappointed I was in this album. I get mad thinking about this shyt and just how long we waited for this album only for him to drop this shyt. shyt is infuriating.

Edit: Maybe I'm being dramatic, but it's the fukking summer. I ain't tryna hear this shyt. You drop an album like DAMN. in the summer, not something like this.
I'm embarrassed I even had these opinions looking back on this album. Charlamagne was right. It really grew on me after listening to it this year without all the distractions of the YSL RICO.
