Finally can post again. If he doesn’t close his Dallas show with “Count Me Out” I’ll lose my shyt. Still giving it time to marinate but it’s dope. The second and third verses of “Savior” my favorite and my candidates for verse of the year.

Finally figured out how to post SMFH

Few thoughts after some listens

-Kendrick is one of the most ambitious rappers ever. You really don’t know what you’ll get and what direction he’ll go in but its never the same. The stage play theme was a creative touch and Kodak came from left field.

-This project would’ve been better condensed into one disc.

-probably his worst produced album. At times it feels he sacrificed quality production to maintain his art and vision. But if the beats aren’t good the replay value suffers tremendously. Imo beats and quality production still have to hit the mark.

- It feels like Noname challenging him publicly made him catch feelings and deflect back into his cave of isolation. The whole “im not your savior.” At least Cole rebuttal was thoughtful and challenged her approach.

-Aunties Dairies is a game changer and felt completely honest. It opened up him to get criticized from that community but I really appreciate the candor approach. The last part threw me of at first but I realized that he was using the f word with his LBGQT cousin without malice but had to be checked cause just like white folks can’t say nikka, that word doesn’t belong to him to use cause he is not apart of LGBTQIA community.

-Mother I Sober probably one of his best tracks ever. That shyt was heavy.

-Album closer was underwhelming, Boinda and Al had the best beats tho.

-Critics giving this a perfect rating really giving his haters and detractors legit ammo about being overrated and the critics having a bias towards him.

I would give it a 3.75 and say currently he isn’t the best rapper alive after this album that title goes to J Cole

Nothing about J Cole is genuine

nikka just slid in after Blu fell off and managed not to be the tragic mulatto, dollar tree version of Logic

If we're having an honest conversation he addressed it on the album. He has an authenticity that only him and Cole and Cardi and Nicki have on their level. No one believes anything Drake or Kanye says or does anymore. It's only those six on that level.

I don't think I've ever scrunched my face up at anything those four have done, but anything Drake or Kanye does I feel like it has an ulterior motive.....I feel the same way with Jay too. Anything he does is a ploy. Kendrick can be a fukked up person because he ain't trying to be perfect and the audience is cool with it most of the time if he goes from one spectrum to the other. Cole is afforded that same luxury.

You can look in old Kendrick threads and see my stannery.

I am not gonna lie..I'm not feeling this album at all. Not one song I'd want to listen to again. I've never cringed more listening to Kendrick.

He def speaks on a lot of relatable stuff like the dad issues and what not but I am trying to force myself to like it and it's not working.

The Heart Pt. 5 was better than every song on the album.

Mans really recorded a domestic dispute over an alchemist beat lol song made me turn the album off.

This was like his 4:44
