NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
4YEO like this MMATBS both are dark introspective albums that cover the same themes. I appreciate the efforts but they both are heavily depressing albums.

My post was speaking to how Cole seemingly went through this same phase as Kendrick. Just jaded with society and their music reflected it. I wasn't saying Cole's albums were executed better than TPAB or this tho. For a while, I questioned whether or not Cole even enjoyed making music. Now I have the same feeling about Kendrick...

:jbhmm:
And THIS is what I’m saying. Like Cole been thru this same shyt and literally NOONE was sensitive about it. nikkas ain’t give a fukk and just criticized him.

I think this is my issue. Like I said. He gets to just do shyt others can’t and I still can’t figure out why. nikkas say one thing on a song and they getting all kinda thinkpieces and shytted on and shyt getting outta context.

It's coming breh. Trust me. I don't think any real reviews have come out yet but I'd expect in the coming days we'll see some shyt and it won't be all roses this time.

Y’all gonna hate but this kinda like Donda to me

the songs that are good are fukking classics but still a little too much filler and kinda boring after awhile

Kendrick let out all his insecurities in this album. It refreshing to see tbh.

One thing drew that me to Pac over the years was his ability to let himself be vulnerable in his music and be honest with his emotions.

I see a lot of that in Kendrick. Black males deal with so much. No one truly understands it but us.

I think it's an excellent album, that I won't return to unless I'm in the mood. There isn't much on here that I personally can listen to on a daily or just play on my daily commute. There's a lot of artists who I feel that way about who I absolutely love. This is a special album from a mainstream artist because these topics aren't talked on much without some artists contradicting themselves on the next song or through what they post on social media. It will be held up to that light for a while because we don't get pieces of art like this often.

I know the message around certain topics on here will get lost because some people will be obtuse on purpose. Auntie Diaries should not be that hard to grasp. Same with Mirror and We Cry Together, as annoying as I found it. Some of you use c00n at a drop of a hat but can't comprehend some of the themes in this. Stop tap dancing around the problem and face it breh.

I've seen positive reactions, but I've seen a loooot of negative reactions as well and not just from the usual blue check mafia. Lot of people find the song laughable. Like I said, I'd be stunned if he does interviews because someone gonna press on it. I "like" the song but get the complaints and like I said I'm not gonna tell other people in those communities "you don't get it, he said fakkit because..."
I don't think the song was meant for that community so there's no point trying to convince them.

The song was meant for people that isnt apart of that community, the use of the word is meant to put emphasis on it, then the lyrics make you question why you're fine with that word leaving your mouth. We justify using it while being the only group on this planet that understand the damage words can do.

It might offend gay folk, but it will also make the rest of us think about why they feel that way.

N95 has really grown on me :ehh:. First couple of listens I was not a big fan of k. dot's silly/quirky flow on this.
