I hate how much every KDot thread turns into a p8ssing match.

But its so refreshing to have an album where all parties involve took their sweet time on every aspect. We will probably never get album based music in the mainstream like this album until there is a huge paradigm shift, something I don't see happening in this era of streaming.

I think this is my issue. Like I said. He gets to just do shyt others can’t and I still can’t figure out why. nikkas say one thing on a song and they getting all kinda thinkpieces and shytted on and shyt getting outta context.

Lets be honest. How many mainstream rappers are speaking on Trans family members or trans issues at all? How many rappers are speaking on LGBTQ topics with a sense of thoughtfulness and actual inclusion? I can’t name many. J.Cole said some shyt in 2013 that was supposed to be ironically inclusive but was MUCH more crass and less thoughtful than Kendrick’s song. And I don’t recall him facing career ending backlash

Jay-Z got a fair amount of acclaim for speaking on his mother’s lesbianism and was rewarded with his first AOTY nomination at the Grammys.

So I don’t really see too many rappers getting severe amounts of backlash for speaking on Gay issues

The weirdest part about their obsession on trying to shut down momentum with everyone else's project is that Drake is the only one that didn't deliver.

By my count:
Summer delivered
Kanye delivered
Cole delivered
Lucky Daye delivered
Push delivered
Future delivered
Kendrick delivered

Only Drake didn't. He half assed a project and been doing it for years. Nothing was the same was his last incredible album.

If we're having an honest conversation he addressed it on the album. He has an authenticity that only him and Cole and Cardi and Nicki have on their level. No one believes anything Drake or Kanye says or does anymore. It's only those six on that level.

I don't think I've ever scrunched my face up at anything those four have done, but anything Drake or Kanye does I feel like it has an ulterior motive.....I feel the same way with Jay too. Anything he does is a ploy. Kendrick can be a fukked up person because he ain't trying to be perfect and the audience is cool with it most of the time if he goes from one spectrum to the other. Cole is afforded that same luxury.
