I listened to disk 1 yesterday and didn't take anything memorable away from it. Some nice sounds I guess, but sometimes I wish this dude would just fukking rap without the artsy shyt. I haven't been motivated to listen to disk 2 as of yet, but if it's as meh as the 1st then...

those projections off

no way this does less than 500k

Projections can go up but usually not a whole hundred thousand. Pusha T’s initial projections went up but I think it was by like 10-15k. He’ll probably hit the 400k mark but lets remember a few things

1). There’s no “hit” single and The Heart Part 5, which was streaming EXTREMELY well, isn’t included on the album.

2). There are no physicals available. Not even on his website. If he had Vinyl/ CD’s ready to go he DEFINITELY would have sold more. Tyler The Creator hit number 1 a few weeks ago off STRICTLY Vinyl for a year old album. Childish Gambino hit number 1 last week off STRICTLY Vinyl for an 8 year old EP.

So 350-400K is phenomenal for an album as anti-commercial as this

Jesus Christ, the J. Cole/ Blu comparison continues to be the laziest fukking thing ever. Just say they're light skinned :mjlol:

Only thing Cole has in common with Blu is the cool everyman persona; but their styles are very different and Cole was bigger than him from like the moment he got signed lmao

Thank GOD someone else besides me said that shyt. Cole might have taken Blu’s “place” but ONLY as the more “conscious” type debuting in the early 2010’s. Their styles are absolutely NOTHING alike. Blu is poetic and a bit abstract whereas Cole is a more traditional spitter. If anything Blu is more comparable to Kendrick than Cole.

We’ll see where they end up but I def think they’d be higher if they didn’t waste 23mil views/streams of Heart 5 without it being on the album. That alone would have had him comfortably closer to 400k.

He'll have like 30 second sections of songs that works well, but alot of it feels lazily cobbled together, and his rapping style is increasingly boring/monotonous. Why would I relisten to any of this?
Yup when he’s actually rapping and the beat is just playing it’s very good.

But he spends so much time fukking around with different weird ass flows and beat changes/drops it’s a chore to get to the actual good stuff.

Like i really enjoy the last 2/3rds of N95 but i’m not bout to listen to that goofy shyt at the beginning of the song every time:stopitslime:
