You can't compare how much help 50 gave Game to help Drake gave Kendrick, it's not close. 50 gave Game by far his 2 biggest hits including hooks, Drake gave Kendrick a verse on a song that became a hit, but probably isn't even his biggest hit

Drake also took Kendrick on tour, and put him on a solo track on Take Care too. At one point in time these guys had a good collaborative relationship.
Its not the exact same as the Game and 50 beef, cause 50 did provide more help and Game did go way more overboard with the disses, but we're 10 years deep on this beef and no matter how many direct shots Kendrick takes, Drake only ever gives him subs back, cause he knows Kendrick tryna come up off him similar to Game would do with 50 back in the day.

There’s literally nothing to “come up” on. No matter if Kendrick beats Drake in a lyrical battle it won’t equal more sales or acclaim. Kendrick is one of the highest selling rappers of his generation. He sells more then Cole. He sells more than Future. He sells more than Nicki. He sells more than Megan. He sells more than Thugga. He sells more than 21. He sells more than Baby. He sells more than Gunna. He sells more than Sean. He sells more than ANY rapper not named Drake and he won’t ever sell that much because he doesn’t make Hotline Bling or Nice For What type singles. Nas beat Jay-Z and Nas didn’t get any massive spike in sales, he sold pretty much what he always sold.
This ain’t about a come up this is about laying unquestionable claim to the BEST and if the best can indeed still be someone who writes their own rhymes.

Kendrick getting a number 1 record off directly dissing Drake completely invalidates your point that rap beef wouldn't stimulate attention and promote streams / sales.
And of course this is about him proving he's the best. However he doesn't want to prove it by dropping his own hits, he wants to prove it by baiting Drake into a beef like Pusha T did. But Drake isn't going to entertain it cause he has everything to lose and nothing to gain, and he learned that with Push beating him.
Kendrick, whether aware of this or not, has continued to poke the bear in recent years. And outside The Heart V and Big Steppers, everytime he broke his silence and came back outside it was with a song baiting Drake. Family Ties, The Hillbillies, Beyonce Remix, and now this all had shots or subs at Drake. We've reached a point where he's rapping more about Drake than standing on his own music. And that's my point here.
also - you conveniently left out Travis who outsold both Drake and Kendrick with his last project's first week numbers (~490k first week w/ Utopia), but that's outside the discussion here.

Drake has been subbing Kendrick way more than Kendrick has subbed Drake. Difference here though is he also drops several times more than Kendrick too.

I guarantee this is starting a rollout for Kendrick. Just like Family Ties was the momentum for Mr Morale and the big steppers. Now that the nikka ain’t on TDE nikka can drop anytime he want. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see something in the next few months.
