well, there's people who would rather listen to Justin Bieber than Michael JacksonCosign, I don't get why Napoleon stans these wack artists when he can listen to great music
Or maybe it's just a challenge

I want to correct this post.
TPAB's impact on West Coast Jazz or Jazz in general is overstated.
If anything it's (Jazz is) being bolstered by dudes like Flylo and other left field Hip-Hop artists who've gradually
pushed the ideas/foundation laid out by Dilla/D'Angelo and so on further and further into unknown territory.
Kendrick's music on TPAB while great also borrows heavily from the work pioneered by J. Dilla, D'Angelo, The Roots and
so on which is why I always scratch my head when people say it's more "Jazz" than it actually is.
Fantastic album, it truly is and my post history shows I think it's a great Hip-Hop album which manages to push Jazz
into the confines of Hip-Hop Rhythm but Glasper, J. Dilla, D'Angelo, Pete Rock etc. have more of an influence
on the contemporary Hip-Hop flavored Jazz than Kendrick does by a country mile.
Examples you can look up are :
Roy Hargrove
Robert Glasper
Nicholas Payton
Ronny Jordan
That I can definitely agree on.tbh I know this album is amazing, but I relaly don't know about this influence thing...what I know though is that it's kind of a new standard for mainstream music, and it had a nice impact in protests (Alright, etc)

As for what Herbie's talking about he's primarily speaking on the Jazz musicians who
played on the album :
Flylo (Electronica/Jazz)
Thundercat (Jazz-Funk)
Robert Glasper (Neo-Soul/Hip-Hop influenced Jazz)
Terrace Martin (Hip-Hop/Neo-Soul influenced Jazz)
That I can definitely agree on.
Hell even for a lot of "off the radar" music TPAB hold's it's own musically.
It's an album that if I were to be a Hip-Hop fan that is arguing the musical
legitimacy of Hip-Hop, then TPAB alongside several other examples would
be pushed without a thought.
I might've missed the albums release, would you happen to have a link to it ?not really, Soundwave, Ali, Kendrick, Snoop and Knxwledge are also on Herbie's new album. I think It really is a jazz/hip hop album
Overly Dedicated is my favorite Kendrick project..definitely A-1All 3 albums are A1.
Overly Dedicated is lowkey A1 too.
How does Kendrick understand how music works, better than Drake, when DRAKE'S music is clearly WORKING better than kendrick's amongst every demographic? Not only kendrick has 2 classics versus drake's 0, Kendrick is also 10 times better than drake at EVERYTHING, speically at understanding how music works.
Joe budden is entertaining but he's no authority,he has one hit over 15 yearsstop talking about this fraud drake. Like joe budden said, kendrick is building, without a fukking doubt, one of the best catalogs in music, period.
What does drake have? bad albums, 1 mediocre project and 1 above average project.
Like XXL said, drake fans will feel insecure about their favorite artist not being able to craft good music, and thats ok, look at this clown trying to defend drake even though he doesn't know anything about music
Drake has no chance? The thing is, while drake is still trying to make an album as good as s80, kendrick topped it with gkmc and later topped it again with tpab
drake has no chance against kendrick, there's a reason if kendrick is widely considered as the king, specially against MediocreDrake
Drake has no chance?
Drake has been running over kendrick, his entire career.
Kendrick is the one needing to catch up,but he cant.
He's a light weight
