ok thats fine, what does that prove? Your false superiority proves the bible to be true in a sense and is why PRIDE IS A SIN
because you have one track mind, you can't even open your mind to any other thought other than the stance you want to be correct
there's nothing in the bible that prevents someone from exploring science
I'm not even a christian and I found somethings in the bible that blew me mind, and made me question my original stance on eligion

have you actually read the Bible
:dwillhuh: I'm not saying you can be a Christian or that the bible prevents you from enjoying science. Nor am I saying that the bible is useless or anything like that? I'm pretty much reiterating Bill Nye's stance here; that there are aspects of the Bible that cannot be taken as concrete fact and don't match up with science.

And yes, I have read a lot of the Bible, although not all of it. Even so, that's irrelevant.

Even though I never been to Church in my life
I can't argue that if you follow God's commandments life would be Great
how can possible say anything different

Every civilization that has ever existed believes in God in sort of a fashion
thats enough witnesses for me to have to take it into consideration
every civilization has had the same story of the savior being born
all this stories and god relate to science, because a lot of them are connected to the stars and alignments are planets

I don't believe genesis should be taught in schools, but at same time the bible should't be over looked

Are you talking about deism or theism? That's a HUGE difference. Most people don't rule out that there might exist some force, they just claim there hasn't been sufficient evidence provided. But there is a HUGE amount of evidence disproving THEISM and theistic interpretation of creation, especially in terms of age. Theism takes the concept of deism and adds fairy tales on top of it .
I'm saying how can we prove God exists if we don't know what we are looking for?

How would we prove God's physical existence?

If there is God, why would God allow us to find him, to discover him, to uncover his likeness?

Isn't there physical evidence that supports some of the stories from The Bible?

shyt I don't know man? I'm just a regular nikka which just as much questions as the next nikka

Nothing wrong with asking ANY of those questions bro. Like I said, an argument against deism and an argument against theism are two different things. Theism piggy backs off of deism's logical standing but it's dishonest because it throws fairy tales on top of it.

Why do you capitalize the word "god"? Why are you sure there is only "one"? Why do you refer to it as "he"? How do you know that science isn't proving god's physical existence now, especially if god or gods are somehow synonymous with existence and universe(s)?

WHAT.

"anyone, christian or non christian, that is doing science is borrowing from creationism"

sheesh. Nye is too nice. He doesn't wanna pull in other religious theories and show how biased and ethnocentric Ham sounds.
This shyt just sounds like the "great white hope" story arc. :lawd: the white man for giving us Christianity.

Which is really funny in retrospect when Ham tried to spin that racist textbook from the early 1900's as evidence against Nye's argument.

I wouldn't say that Ham is racist, but he clearly lacks any real perspective outside of his own ethnocentric, Christian upbringing.

I don't disagree that theology and science are unrelated. Theology is at its core a set of hypotheses presented by early civilization to answer the question 'of why are we here'? We are still answering those questions. Science is how we answer them.
