I thought creationists had arguments though this really opened my eyes. Every question he just goes "it's a glorious god" or on the particle question he said we have the greatest textbook and the first line is "in the beginning...." for the expanding universe question he said "it sais in the bible god is infinite"

i thought they had science arguments?

Well I'm talking about the God of the bible. God of Abraham. The bible only gives us one God

shyt I don't know. That's the thing there are things out there we don't know that we don't know if that makes sense. lol

you don't think anything is wrong with the fact that all you know is the bible

and technically there are 2 other groups that believe in the God of Abraham. But they would not consider themselves young earth creationist.

lol he essentially put the final nail in the coffin for his argument.

All of his evidence was that of the Christian version of God. The entire argument against creationism is that it brings religion into the classroom. He did a TREMENDOUSLY horrible job of arguing against this.

dawg...you didn't know?

They just presume the bible is true, then run with it trying to make the arguments fit.

Science looks at whats there then throws convention to the wind. its the only way to learn whats true or not.

WHAT.

"anyone, christian or non christian, that is doing science is borrowing from creationism"

sheesh. Nye is too nice. He doesn't wanna pull in other religious theories and show how biased and ethnocentric Ham sounds.
This shyt just sounds like the "great white hope" story arc. :lawd: the white man for giving us Christianity.

I came in late, but I noticed that as well. That was such a freebie :banderas: I'd be disappointed if he allowed that to happen all night... failing to speak up actually lends credence to the very thing Nye was trying to stop.

Yeah, this dude being like ":jawalrus: the bible" and all that shyt, he was just wide open for that right cross. Maybe Nye doesn't know enough about other cultures or religions to stunt, but that CAC needs to get learned on the rest of the world, he lives in a bubble

we know science can be wrong though.:manny: , and many times it's not technically WRONG but parts were not discovered yet so they get added and it changes the study. Look at how dishonest the discussion has become. Religious people....are now using how ridiculous THEY KNOW religion is, to paint people who agree with evolution as basically another religion. The entire theme is "you are just as ridiculous as me, so don't throw stones", and only one side of the debate is using that tactic.

It's like if you are arguing with your boss, you're right, he's wrong, but he just goes fukk it i'm the boss. Taking the easiest way out to end the discussion. That's what people are doing when they say "well you don't know either" or "you cant disprove god" etc.

Another thing is to actually explain some of these concepts in science, it isn't over coffee. It's a long drawn out explanation with talking, calculations being shown, diagrams, a black/white board markers etc. in order to actually make sure somebody is understanding it. These types of discussions aren't really fit for chit chat and easy debate it needs to be a lecture type situation because these ideas are complex and many take repeating and multiple examples to understand fully.
