I also believe a lot of white people have turned away from the people, because if you actually read it it's not book for white people, a lot of them realized this thus try to say the book is garbage, even though it channels the stories and principles of several different cultures which I think deserves consideration for further investigation
The storytelling and cultural significance of the Bible is worth studying, just like Greek, Hindu, and Norse mythology. That doesn't mean we should be arguing for the scientific legitimacy of creationism just like we aren't running around celebrating Lupercalia or sacrificing pow's to Quetzacoatl.

"The Bible does document that"

"Were you there when the Bible was written?" That's the only thing Nye should reply with.

thats what I'm saying the debate is pointless, plus the arguing points are baseless, because there's nothing in the bible saying the Earth is 6,000 years old
there's absolutely no way to prove how the Earth was created or if God exists

Put I would still bet my money on God, we live on a ball of gases binded by an electric magnetic field that we can't see that revolves around a giant ball fire in the middle of Nothingness yet God is out of the realm of reason?

"Don't know... that's a mystery"

:camby:
Part of the joy of being a scientist is acknowledging that there are phenomena and systems and mechanisms out there you don't understand. We embrace this. We don't get on a pedestal and claim we understand all aspects of the universe. That's the essence of science. Uncovering mysteries.

I always laugh when people don't understand this concept. If we knew everything there would be no point in science. Science ultimately usually opens more questions with every new discovery.
