Those that are actually invested in black comedy not the masses that are consuming it as a form of reality tv entertainment.

Back in the day, if there was beef between black men, you didn't put it out there for the masses to consume. You kept it subtle to where both parties reputations stayed in tact. It may have even been known by people in the industry. But these were folks who were aware of the nuances and could properly put shyt into perspective.

John H. Johnson and Reginald F. Lewis, the two wealthiest black men of the 70's/80's/90's, had an eternal beef. But black people outside of the business world didn't know until they read their respective biographies, Johnson telling his side in Succeeding Against the Odds and Lewis telling his side in Why Should White Guys Have All The Fun.

It made you appreciate the men more because they had enough integrity to keep it out of the public eye as not to make the other a mocker and not fukk each other's money up.

Again Katt should've addressed this shyt later, because it damages his reputation in the industry as much as the others exposing people now.

Like I said, the energy feels the same as Aries Spears.

Breh this shyt just exposes how full of shyt and weak a lot of people are

Very entertaining interview.

Katt needs to chill on talking about these guys wives and deceased children though. That’s not cool in any way.

He exaggerated, embellished, and outright fabricated parts of this such as the reading all those books, being able to run sub 4.3 in the 40 yards speed, Disney sending him a cease and desist on the Cat in the Hat. Some of yall believe anything.
:mjlol:

There are other aspects of this interview rooted in truth though, but the problem in dealing with guys like Katt you got to weed through a lot of bullshyt he puts out there for entertainment value and obvious stories of embellishing if not outright fabricating that it dilutes and calls into question certain aspects of things that he says that are very much true.

I’ve always thought that Steve Harvey was kinda of a grimy dude based on other information put out there over the years. He made valid points about Ricky Smiley too; however, the comment about his son was completely out of bounds and I’ve seen guys get killed behind stuff like that.

Despite my opinion of some of those guys they are good business men that were willing to politic and play the game and they were rewarded for their grind.

You got to be able to tone it down when you are in certain rooms in front of certain people that don’t understand our culture. Kevin Hart, Steve Harvey, and Cedric the Entertainer figured that out and it served them well in garnering a mainstream following, movie roles, and sitcom deals; however, that isn’t Katt’s personality and that’s fine but just know it’s a glass ceiling to that kinda mindset when your success is contingent on others that don’t look like you.

1. This not "back in the day", so why are you trying to compare it to then. Especially with shyt like youtube/SM allowing you to get your story out better and a bigger reach than the autobiography. And he can still do an autobiography. What makes you think eh even cares to do one?
2. Did you ignore the part where he is responding to ppl that talked about him on the same platform? What did he say here that was even autobiography worthy?
3. This is not damaging his reputation anymore than all the other shyt he has done. Did you not watch it? He said he was already blackballed and doesnt care. He was blackballed for speaking about Weinstien early. If anything this helps his reputation more than harms it. This reads nothing like Aries Spears.

Just admit you like the gossipy shyt cause you have no integrity as a black man.
