I believe this was something both teams would've hoped to hold off until the deadline for but Mitchell Robinson's injury forced the Knicks hand to make a move ASAP since they didn't have a starting C on their roster anymore
There's absolutely no way Minny has their most successful season in 20 years and doesn't try to bring every one of the main players back but here we are (I understand there is luxury tax reasoning)

Minnesota is going to be in Tax hell. Julius will be moved again I do believe because it looks like the team is going to be built around Ant and Naz Reid they can build out the team.

Another important thing is that the owenership is in flux so who is going to pay the luxury tax bill but the team itself should still be solid enough to make playoffs without the play in.

I'm with you except that building around Naz Reid idea. He is not good enough to be on that center stage.

The West... if teams were stocks, i'd be bullish on OKC. I think they may win 60.

I don't think Minnesota falls off a cliff, but how much better they can be comes down to 1) how much better Ant gets (obviously) but also 2) has Naz Reid reached his full potential (as a glorified 3&D role player) or can he at 25 yrs old and 5 years in the league break that ceiling and be something a bit more?

I said this a week ago in the Random NBA Observation thread, and just like we're really about to find out this season :wow:

Ironically i also said this on the same day, 30 minutes prior:

On one hand I think Boston is the best team in the East, on the other hand no reigning champ has made it back to the conference finals, let alone the NBA Finals, since the 18-19 Warriors 6-years ago.

If this trend continues and somehow/inexplicably they don't make it... i actually like the Knicks as a secondary/dark horse pick. I feel they'll be a bit more stable than MIL (defensively) and PHI ("star" reliability).

:ohhh:

NYK, MIL, and PHI just got more intriguing. All got their share of flaws or mental midgets but also got firepower

Anyone saying Randle is a bum is a jackass that doesn’t watch the Knicks. He made multiple all star teams & made an all-nba team while here. He's a guaranteed 20+ & 10+ guy, and was the Knicks lone low post threat.

Donte arguably our best shooter & guaranteed bucket getter off the bench. Knicks just lost toughness & bench depth with this move.

Donte has stark vibes? Fam you wylin.. Donte better than Starks
No he's not. Starks made an all-star team & was 6moty.
