But that’s MY point. What was the Chicago Bulls compared to some of those teams in the 80s?:stopitslime:you talking about “But but Kareem beat better competition” as if his teams weren’t stacked and had the GOAT point guard that ever lived that was the best player the majority of those championships Kareem won in the 80s. Do I take it away from kareem? No I don’t, but be real here. Compare the 80s bulls to the 80s lakers :stopitslime:like wtf you even talking about. Kareem had stacked and legendary talent to compete with stacked and legendary talent. Jordan didn’t. In the early 90s. Jordan three peated with Scottie as the only hall of famer by his side:stopitslime:and Scottie didn’t win 3 FMVPS and is considered the GOAT of his position either
The point was that the Bulls peak came at a time when the league’s teams fell off from the decade prior. Im not saying that to take away from MJ, Im saying that it’s ridiculous to slight Kareem for having a stacked team where he wasnt always the Finals MVP. Teams required to be that good where it wasnt just one man who can carry a team to the threshold. Kareem was the lakers unquestioned leader until Riley told Magic to take on the scoring load in 88’....his last year.

And what I’m saying, and some of the other dudes in here. Why slight Jordan for not winning in the 80s, when he didn’t have the proper team to compete? When Kareem had 2 guys win FMVP that decade and multiple HOFs, compared to Jordan who didn’t have half of them or the Celtics in the 80s? I don’t deny Kareem was the leader either, but look at who was his point guard. Jordan really only had Pippen. A lot of those 90s team had 1/2 guys that were in the finals. Hell. Charles Barkley was the only HOF on that suns team that made the finals. Jordan didn’t have a extreme advantage on everybody untill I can say late in the bulls run, but one of those Jazz teams won 64 games and had 2 HOF.

So kareem was the unquestioned leader until he was 41 and entering his final season?:mjlol:

Do you even read the stupid shyt you type before you hit the post button?

Magic already had 3 finals mvps up to that point and had been outscoring kareem since '86, when he got his first mvp.

In the last 4-5 years, damn near zero defense has been allowed with how the games are called so all the numbers are inflated, scrubs will drop 60 points and you won’t hear from them again

Very difficult to compare players from different eras
Willi Burton scored 53 points in 94
Charles Smith scored 52 in 91
Tony Delk scored 53 in 2001

to name few

Anyone who thinks there's less defense now than there was at any point from 1947-1993 is wilding. If you watch those games there is NO argument that defense in an average game by an average team was better. When nearly anyone could get an open shot from 15' and out when they wanted, threes weren't guarded at all, and defenders regularly lost track of their man on pick-and-rolls, you are not making an argument for "great defense." It was just "more congested defense" because the shooters weren't there at anything like today's level.

there’s one goat, and that’s MJ :manny:
fact is he matched all of those bigs accomplishments arguably did more while he was 6 inches shorter
Nope, he matched that with Pipen. He was a NBA and ESPN product ever since. The most protected investment of NBA and companies

Isnt the point that WGN gave folks a chance to see MJ and the Bulls with mlre frequency, ultimately adding to their popularity? Wasnt that the point....NOT an “every game” debate? :mindblown:

My lord....take off the Kool Moe Dee shades breh

Stop.

nikkaz bringing up wgn to try to make it like they getting insider points and to a real bigha from Chicago. I see all through that lie.

Now I have said this to anyone talembout they saw Jordan and a naysayer.

What channel did you see all the Michael Jordan on?

It sure as hell ain't NBC nor is it wgn.

Expose you never saw no mj to even mention pip like pip carried mj or was in any instrumental fully in mj being mj.

Mj made pip, not the other way around.

Walton swept Kareem during Kareem's MVP season in 1977. He was level with him until injuries hit

Mac racked up 3 scoring titles, 5 All Star appearances, and a MVP during the 70's. He was definitely a peer

Moses was digging in Kareem's chest even when he was in Houston.

Kareem ain't win jack during the 70's in a league filled with coke heads. His teams in LA went nowhere until Magic came along:yeshrug:. Missed the playoffs twice in his prime during the 70's, got swept during a MVP year, and had another season end in the 1st round
Walton was only healthy for two years. I agree he could have been but he wasn’t.

McAdoo was not a rival of Kareem. Not shytting on McAdoo and he accomplished a lot in th 70s, but Kareem was the better player.

Moses busted Kareem’s ass during the post prime phase of Kareem’s career. Basically after 1980. I would say that period was 80-85 for Kareem. He was a great player but declining.

And the Lakers were a garbage franchise in the 70s after West and that crew retired. Kareem didn’t have anyone around him to win but he still racked up accolades.

Kareem was clearly the best player of the 1970s. No one debated that, not even the players you mentioned.
