I’d argue higher than 500k. Had this dropped midnight Thursday….would have been a whole weekend of purchases/streams. Given the hype, I’d even say 550k

I think part of the reason is because it is at the top of the album and features Jay-z so it is going to be one of the first tracks people listen to even if they don't make it all the way through the album.

This is probably the overall fairest sentiment towards Kanye's mind state when making the album. Performance Art is more important to him than just "merely" making music. I'd argue that Childish Gambino has done a better job mastering that overall philosophy. But Kanye at the very least will always manage to make the journey something fascinating.
