The #duality here is that no one has strived more for approval from white publications and taste makers than Kanye West. From jump street he was begging for Grammys and even MTV Music awards. It's definitely a very scatterbrained album but in many ways it perfectly illustrated Kanye's mind state at this time. It's art imitating life lol.
