He is right. He's accomplished a lot and as a black male, regardless of where it is he was born, puts him at a disadvantage. I also think it's stupid for Rolling Stone to have people cover music they are not into. They need to hire more black writers and staff to cover certain albums.

Exactly the majority of the people at his shows and consumers are white. How is a white fans opinion on his music not credible when a large portion of his fanbase is white?

The basic art of sampling is to create aomething of your own qith the sample
And kanye understands he makes universal music but to his point his last two albums are his blackest albums since college dropout
Lyrically and musically...if you asked 100 white peoplebwho kelly price is maybe 7 will fukk around and say they went to school woth a kelly price

It's not so much his fan base being white as it is he has spent a lot of time catering to a white audience or carrying what they think. He makes albums to win grammys. Grammys are decided by old ass white people. He samples Daft Punk, The Doors, he samples obscure British Rock bands for singles. Yes sampling is Hip Hop but you have to be familiar with music.

Public Enemy and Immortal Technique have a huge white fan base.

You can't sample as well as he does with out being familiar with the artists he's sampling. You don't just randomly pick samples like that.

Rap music is the only genre of music where people that are not even fans of the genre or come from the culture actually have a voice.

I don't like that kanye is the guy to say this but I wish more currently relevant black artist would say the same, but the reality is they all want validation from cac award shows and magazines.
