No because Alabama plays in the SEC where there are 6 other programs that recruit at a top 15 level annually (Georgia, LSU, Texas A&M, Florida, Auburn, and Tennessee). In the Big 10 there's only Ohio State, Michigan, and Penn State that recruit at that level annually.

So in any given season Alabama plays 5-6 conference opponents who recruit at a top 15 level annually while Ohio State plays only 2. That's a substantial gap in talent faced. It's why Alabama QBs tend to do well in the NFL because the gap in talent between their roster and other SEC teams isn't as substantial as you see in the Big 10.
are you saying that Bryce may have a chance to be the next Drew? :ohhh:

Justin Fields never looked like a great player so I don't know why yall are surprised by his struggles. Ohio State QB got yall fooled all the time cause they're essentially an SEC caliber program playing in a weak conference. As a result there's always a huge talent gap between their team and whoever they play and the QBs always benefit from this gap in talent.

If Justin Fields and CJ Stroud played on Illinois rather than Ohio State nobody would think they were any good.

Hmmm.....never say never.

Best black QBs in college football are: Justin Fields (aka 6'2" Cam Newton) and Kellen Mond (aka 6'3" Colin Kaepernick).
Fields will transfer and win a national title at another school
You sir are smart. This is the right choice. Trevor Lawrence looks like a young Peyton Manning out there. Definitely the best NFL QB prospect in college right now.

Only other franchise QB-type in college right now is Justin Fields. He looks like a mini-Cam Newton.
Fields looks 6'2".

With that said, he is crazy talented. Reminds me a lot of Cam Newton. Just in a smaller body. I have him #2 right now. The top pro prospect in college is Trevor Lawrence (Clemson). He reminds of Peyton Manning. He looks surgical in his first collegiate game.

Either way these two will go #1 and #2 in the 2021 NFL Draft. They are true franchise QBs.
Can't believe we fukked it up so badly with Fields. Tennessee whiffed on No. 1 dual-threat QB Justin Fields early in his recruitment

:snoop:

Classic Butch Jones. Always finding a way to fukk things up.
Next year's QB is even better with Trevor Lawrence and Justin Fields.
- Georgia QB Justin Fields looks like a shorter Cam Newton
Justin Fields is the only one I think has a chance to be a NFL star

Of course, by draft time you eventually dumped him for Trey Lance.

:mjlol: he might as well just say he hates black people

This is clear racism. Trey Lance is the #1 QB in this draft. And in no way is Mac Jones on the same level as Justin Fields.
:whoo: Just off my early impressions, he's the most impressive QB prospect I've seen since Josh Allen. His game reminds me a lot of Josh Dobbs. And ya'll know how highly I still think of him. This dude is already my favorite QB in college football just off these clips. Will definitely be looking at more film of him.

Trey Lance just vaulted himself ahead of Trevor Lawrence in my eyes as the top QB prospect in the 2021 draft.

Early 2021 NFL Draft QB Rankings:

1. Trey Lance (North Dakota St.) - Top 5 Grade....NFL comp: Josh Dobbs

2. Trevor Lawrence (Clemson) - Top 5 grade.....NFL comp: more athletic less cerebral Peyton Manning

3. Justin Fields (Ohio St.) - 1st round grade....NFL comp: mini Cam Newton

4. Kellen Mond (Texas A&M) - 1st round Grade....NFL comp: mini Colin Kaepernick

This could go down as one of the better QB classes in history.

I actually like that he ranked Kellen Mond that high. To me he's in the same class as Justin Fields. Mond reminds me of a shorter Colin Kaepernick. I think he will be a solid starter in the league.

My rankings would go:

1. Trey Lance
2. Zach Wilson
3. Trevor Lawrence
4. Justin Fields
5. Kellen Mond

All 5 are worthy 1st round picks. Mac Jones is the obvious bust in this group.

Crazy how Shadeur is already light years ahead of Fields at making good reads and the speed in which they are both able to think the game :francis:

Blackleticism is a curse for Black QBs in a lot of situations.

Def think the coaches are primarily responsible for this. Getting drafted to the right team means so much to a QB nowadays, especially black ones.

TBH, I think this goes back to even his highschool/college coaches too. They simply let him play off "instinct" because he was likely always bigger/faster/stronger than most at those levels so they didn't bother teaching him how to "truly" be a QB. At this point all you can do is build a truly run-first oriented offense around him with simple reads/etc.

end of the day a lot of this shyt is a crapshoot, but that's why good coaching matters.

lots of guys have the tools but the coaching and upstairs is so critical.

Yes and no. The coaches are doing him NO justice at all with trying to keep him in the pocket but also this dude is three years in still having issues making reads. Dudes be wide ass open pause and instead he'd rather dive head first into a defensive lineman.
Yeah it’s crazy. He doesn’t have the proven skill at this level to blame this on coaching alone. He’s just as responsible as they are. In fact if he’s willing to blow it up like this then he could’ve just ran his own plays and produced a different result proving it was coaching all alone.

I agree but CJ Stroud is different

Did you know he was sacked 4X less than Fields with lesser talent around him?

With oft-injured Robert Woods as his go to guy, look at his numbers in the first 2 games of his career compared to Fields, who's 3 years in

Stroud sees the field of way better than Justin
Stroud might have a legitimate #1 in Nico Collins. Plus Tank Dell and Meechie in the cut. He needs a stable o-line and another RB and he will ball out
