Is he right?

If you don’t understand FF just say so and someone can educate you

There was an 8 week period last year when Fields had 711 yards rushing and 7 TDs with 1471 yards passing and 11 TD. Like breh said you were getting a top tier RB and a QB in one spot
And there is like a 30 week period where he has been the worst QB in the league. So what you going to believe in? Those 8 games where he finally figured out you don't jump over players who recover fumbles because they just get up and run in the endzone...or the other games where he pure trash?

Did those 8 games carry over to this season? Don't seem like it.

Here's the deal for all the people who focus solely on his record as a QB:

As a rookie, Nagy actually wanted to bring him along slowly, but Andy Dalton got hurt and Fields was thrown into the fire against a dominating Cleveland defense. It's rookie year tho and almost every QB struggles as a rookie.

His second season, he gets a new coaching staff, and the Bears had zero first round picks that year. Also, their team was gutted by trading away a lot of their best players on defense, and their best receiver was Darnell Mooney, who would be a #3 receiver on most good teams.

This season two games in, the Bears move away from what made Justin successful in the first place. He had only had 5 designed runs for him in these first two games.

That isn't to say Justin isn't without fault. He can surely play better, and we've seen it. But it's not solely on him. It's a horrible situation no QB would succeed in.

All valid...but what's his excuse for missing open TDs and taking sacks instead? His mental has been shaken up by all this. My concern is that the bears organization as a whole is too conservative to put the right pieces in place for Fields to succeed.

That's what it is. The frustration of losing, the high expectations, being over coached, etc.

I remember Kenny Smith said on Inside the NBA that a coach can't build up a player's confidence, but they can take it away.

It’s got to be a culture shock for players who have been great(and winning) their whole life and then now they suck

Is it really mental though or does he just not know what he’s doing out here to the point he looks as fukk?

Posters like to blame the mental aspect instead of admitting that some QBs don’t understand the basics of the position even after all these years.
