I want black QB's to succeed, but we know the track record with OSU QBs.

But he's right. Bears coaching is ass. I didn't even know who dude was that they hired. Bears have always been ass with coaches since they let Smith go.

Yes and no. The coaches are doing him NO justice at all with trying to keep him in the pocket but also this dude is three years in still having issues making reads. Dudes be wide ass open pause and instead he'd rather dive head first into a defensive lineman.
This is spot on.

Look here is the reality, black quarterbacks are on a short leash in the NFL, they are already target for prejudice and have less room for failure , fields shouldnt have made this statement, you just embolden your naysayers who can finally say ''AH ha!'' ,he is a young qb but he will learn hopefully

Coaching is a major issue in Chicago the fact is no coach with a decent resume wants to coach there so as a result they have gotten a bunch of positions coaches who are relative unknowns. Matt Eberflus is a defensive coordinator yet his defense can't stop a runny nose and the offensive coordinator was basically a glorified waterboy.

BUT

Justin Fields has clear limitations on his ability to throw the ball and it's not that easy to hide. The bears have overhauled the receiver room and added solid pieces to a developing offensive line. It may be surprising to some that the bears offensive line held the pocket for about 2.6 seconds on average per passing set which is top 5 in the NFL the past 3 years yet Justin Fields leads the league in getting sacked in that time period with 103 sacks. The long and the short of it is he has not improved as a passer of the football and that is a major problem in year 3.

This is not to slam Justin Fields as I think he got drafted into a difficult situation where the expectations were sky high and I like Justin as a person who has held himself accountable up to this point. I don't this statement will destroy his career as he walked it back and he is a human being who is just frustrated as he wants to be successful and his team to be successful. I just wonder if he can work on his mechanics and accuracy to be a credible threat from the pocket.
