Even the Injustice games had more optimistic endings than this

I don’t think so as I believe that they are going to go the individualized story route for the time being. I’m assuming that The Flash did a hard reboot to wipe the deck clean and start over from stretch. Hence the ending and the new animation and voice actors we are getting now.

It’s confirmed as the last film of the current DC movie universe that started with Justice League War. Superman: Man of Tomorrow is the next film they are releasing, but it’s an individualized story with new animations and characters. I’m assuming that the credits will give us an idea of where they will be headed next.v
I think that they are going to go with the individualized story route for now and then decide if they want an overarching theme/villain again or not.
