As said countless times why don't the guys at the animated division get the keys for the live action, seems like the studio heads at Warner don't even pay any attention to their animated releases only rationale for their continue mediocrity when developing live action movies.

But yeah this was one of the best comic genre movies I've seen.
I've wondered this for years which is why back in 08 I would've put money on the DCEU killing it over the MCU but apparently studios are that stupid. Suits came in and ruined story lines that were pretty much written out in advance and put new "twist" on characters. Endless quality animated movies and shows all right there but they got greedy and rushed projects to get bonuses and didn't care at all about the story. There really should be a documentary made about how badly they fukked this opportunity up.

This movie was a 9/10 until I reflected on it and I ended up with a 6/10 due to the terrible black representation.:mjpls:

Black Manta was very forgettable:ld:
Steel was also very forgettable. He wasn't even worth an onscreen death.:francis:
Jon Stewart had a pathetic death and has been pathetic in all the DC movies so far:scust:
Batwing literally died without doing anything and got killed by regular parademons. At least Batgirl took a couple of paraDooms down before she died:hhh:
Cyborg was terrible in this movie. Wonderwoman and the rest could become normal again but he couldn't even detach himself from a wall "for reasons". :unimpressed:
Darkseid, yes I'm claiming him especially since he has a black VA, was embarrassed by Trigon. He literally put his foot on Darkseid's head and had Darkseid leaking by the end of the movie. :mjtf:
It looks like Darkseid is about to become Trigon's jail bytch. He's going to be yelling

The rebellion on Earth was all white besides the forgettable Black Manta who had no lines and by the end of the movie, the allwhite league was watching Barry run into the horizon.:russell:

Are they rebooting the dcau into the Batman who laughs?

Maybe. This whole series of movies was made to reflect the New 52. Now that the New 52 is over and they've done Rebirth and Dark Nights: Metal, the stuff going on with Perpetua in Justice League, this new set of movies may reflect that.

How in the hell is Marvel more popular in movies than DC? The DC animated series have been next level for over 20 years.
Just don't understand it.

They fell for the dope boy trap.

You work your way up nickel and diming, you got a small town locked up now..

You coast on that for a few years. You rich and untouchable. You got a shyt ton of money, you never have to worry about falling off.

But you reach a certain level, you notice nikkas that got your WHOLE COUNTY/BURROUGH on lock.

":dwillhuh: who is these nikkas? I thought it was just me and the plug!"

:mjcry: you try to do what they're doing, you quickly get killed or arrested and replaced.

Crazy.....how Marvel started the PG-13/Rated R animated movie flicks on DVD, but DC just ran them outta there in just a few years later

I wasn't really feeling this one:ld:

The humor was pretty bad.

I hate GMO villains and really wish the whole taking a powerful heroes DNA and making monsters thing would stop. That shyt just feels lazy. Instead of thinking of a creative way for the bad guys to win they just have them overpower heroes with a horde. Mindless drones doing the killing makes the deaths feel cheap.

Once everyone started getting torn apart the deaths had zero weight. Seeing random character disemboweled and I'm like:yeshrug:

Does anyone like Damien Wayne? He's the most annoying fukk boy ever written. Please get rid of him for good.

They really picked an odd group to focus on. Harley getting more time then core JL members is a business decision at the expense of the narrative.

Time travel:camby:

This was a very uneven movie. DC gotta tighten things up with the animated division and get back to form.

6/10
