That is up in the air and Scott Snyder isn’t down with it at all. It’s a Dan DiDio thing. It’s to phase out the old guard. So Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman etc would be phased out. In their place legacy characters. So for Superman and Batman I assume Jonathan and Damian taking up those roles. It makes sense but the fans won’t go for it. Superman is about as old as my grandma. She was born in 1935. How much longer can you retcon shyt? This thing is to give these properties fresh starts with new alter egos, who can go through their own trials and tribulations. It’s not like it hasn’t been done. For how many people was Wally West their Flash? My hand is raised. But anyone with common sense knows that these fans won’t accept it. They’d rather see Darkseid invade Earth-1 a hundred more times than get of Jack Kirby’s titty.

Just finished watching it, this movie was great. Trigon vs Darkseid was something I always wanted to see for years. But I never thought Trigon was more powerful than Darkseid. Great movie.

Basically, Gen 1 is everything up until Crisis in the 80s. Not sure where Gen 2 ends, but you have N52 and Rebirth part of the other Gens.

Anybody check out the DC Showcase shorts?

The ones for Death and Adam Strange were both really good.
I was surprised by how gritty the Adam Strange one was and how much story they crammed into 15 minutes.
The Death one was a riff on the High Cost of Living graphic novel that was a lot more mature in it's themes than I expected it to be.
The Sgt. Rock one was entertaining and I could see a live-action movie made from the concept.
The Phantom Stranger one was OK; it was done by Bruce Timm so it was cool seeing that style of animation again.

But the voice actor for Darkseid was not the best. I think Michael Ironside was the best Darkseid I've heard. The voice actor from Justice League was was better than the voice actor we just had in Apokolips war. Even though he's a breh, he didn't sound right as Darkseid. Andre Braugher who voiced Darkseid back in Superman/Batman: apocalypse was also a good voice for Darkseid. I wonder why they didn't reach out to him again.

Yeah agreed. I still loved the movie, but this Darkseid sounded like a straight goofy. The voice actor could have been more suitable for a character like Desaad or something.
