Just watched the movie "Backstage" for the 1st time in years and realized that

not everyone is made to be a boss and if everyone was a boss or trying to be one then no one would be one because everyone would be on the same level. noone goes around saying every guitar player or pop singer needs to be a super business minded boss so why is that the expectation for rappers?

people fukk up, people have problems and people like to have fun while they're on tour

that's why, usually, bosses are older than their subordinates. in this case though, these muthaf*ckas are basically all around the same age, it's just that one of them is somewhat smart while the others are f*cking idiots. just sayin. you can have fun without acting like 12 year olds.

Jay was the only smart rapper in the entire movie. The other nikkas was just content with getting high and getting show money and groupies. It seems if your focused in hiphop like Jay,50,Puff it should be easy to become a mogul. All I could do is smh at Meth and Red, them grown ass nikkas was acting like kids while Jay played the cut and executed moves. Same goes for DMX, I don't know how you get your foot in the door like that and only care about the small shyt like hoes and getting wasted. nikkas like 50 let the Young Bucks worry about that shyt while they stay focused and you see 1 busting dope moves while the other is bragging about buying his chain back from the IRS. All dem nikkas from Beans to Bleak just looked happy to be there. They made Jay look much smarter than he is. Meth and Red are fukking jokes tho. I know everybody doesn't wanna be a CEO or exec but damn, them nikkas was acting like junior high students.

Im not a Jay fan at all. I respect his moves tho. nikka worth over a half a billion yet can't 1 broad hit him up for child support. Alot of the moves he made are moves I would've made. Rap is a short lived genre. Meaning you gotta get all you can get while your relevant. Kiss and The Rolling Stones have the benefit of a fanbase that grows as they do. Rappers don't have the same luxury. You gotta boss up instantly or else you'll be right back in the slums you tried to escape. "If you ain't in this rap game for the muthafukking cash mane then what is yo muthafukkin purpose?"

yes that has been the thought process since Hip Hop became a viable business but with several of the genres biggest and best stars catching up to 40 & 50, it's time to change that way of thinking. even the "young" stars in the game are well into their 20's or even 30's. the fans like myself who are 30 or over and have been fans of the genre since they were kids still want to hear and see acts like Jay & Nas etc, i went and saw KRS One for his first ever appearance in Australia not 4 months ago! yeah he's not filling stadiums like The Rolling Stones but he never was i'm just using it as an example.

not everyone HAS to be a boss & a label owner, are you a business owner? no, everything and everyone needs owners, managers AND workers.
