I can see if you was to say everybody ain't smart enough. But to tell me the average person doesn't want his boss' job or pay is unbelievable. Sure it's more stress but it's more pay. And we do live in a capitalistic society. nikkas ain't turning down raises and promotions where I come from.

Sometimes being a boss equals hands off on ground level..especially when its somethin u love to do...also..like I said before...some people just ain't cut out for that title...or dont have the social skills...diff reasons...which is why they would rather NOT...nobody turning down promotions but there's bosses who get fired everyday or quit cause they not cut out for the shyt...there's many different reasons that have nothing to do with intelligence...thinking with only money on the mind is a sure fire way to over extend urself and set urself up for failure...

So if you was a rapper what would you do? Be content on spitting rhymes for a living or try to build an empire while you're hot?

Honestly...If I get to have the privacy I want...I have consistent money coming in and get to make the music I want while taking care of my family...travel when I want...buy nice things...have a nice balance...be able to retire with MORE than enough in the bank...make some investments..that's living the LIFE to me...and I would pick that over ANYTHING....and I am a rapper...

Jay was the only smart rapper in the entire movie. The other nikkas was just content with getting high and getting show money and groupies. It seems if your focused in hiphop like Jay,50,Puff it should be easy to become a mogul. All I could do is smh at Meth and Red, them grown ass nikkas was acting like kids while Jay played the cut and executed moves. Same goes for DMX, I don't know how you get your foot in the door like that and only care about the small shyt like hoes and getting wasted. nikkas like 50 let the Young Bucks worry about that shyt while they stay focused and you see 1 busting dope moves while the other is bragging about buying his chain back from the IRS. All dem nikkas from Beans to Bleak just looked happy to be there. They made Jay look much smarter than he is. Meth and Red are fukking jokes tho. I know everybody doesn't wanna be a CEO or exec but damn, them nikkas was acting like junior high students.

-Backstage is currently streaming on netflix btw.

Edit-You can watch the entire movie on youtube in parts

Backstage (part 1) - YouTube

You have to remember they never really had a job or some serious responsibility. In the case of Red and Meth they have been making music for years and do you know how that goes?. Wake up, smoke and eat or drink, go to the studio and make some music, get some food and p*ssy, go to the party or back to the studio or do a show to get some money and do everything over the next day. They are living a simple life and GETTING MONEY FOR IT. They Don't realize it won't last that long but if they play with their money right they can live like that for a long time.

Jay, 50 and people like them ran a "business" well or in the case of puffy wanted to be an executive so they don't mind busting their ass all day because they know they aren't real artist so they can't make a living off of MAKING music for a long time so they play the opposite of them and be business men. Jay-z is an exception and even then we see how people complained about him at Def Jam and never being around to do his job. Most people have no idea what that life is like. Barely going to H.S., barely working, and then getting paid to think of a rhyme and making at least $50,000-$100,000 every year.

No, I'm pretty sure Jay was the smartest rapper on that tour and the most business minded as well, hence him being a CEO already at the time of the tour.

He didn't do much at Rocafella. That was Dame doing most of the work. Jay was just chilling.

Same goes for Wayne. Young Money wouldn't exist if Baby and Slim wasn't the 1's running it. He would just get high and live off show money and feature money. Dude should be on top of the forbes list. Sad what drugs do to nikkas.

That's because once you get money, get high, you are satisfied but people who don't do it like that and in a position of power, they usually have an addiction to power and want to be the boss and are dikkheads. Don't think they are good and strong people just because they don't get high off of drugs, they just get high off of controlling people and having more then them which is why they are so dangerous because they will do anything to be on top and stay there.

Thought about it for 2 seconds and still can't understand who would WANT to be a worker instead of a boss.

Being a "boss" is the most overrated thing in the world. Boss' have bosses. So while you guys say Jay-Z is "smart" and business savvy, he still has bosses. nikkas he paying is making moves for him, how exactly is that "boss status"? He's not overthrowing anything, taking over anything. He makes other people millions on millions and gets a feed, just like you. He's a worker. he generates more money than you, so his salary is more than yours.

And using Jay-Z as an example is dumb anyway, because everyone can not be rich and successful. Should every black male above 5'3 think they have a realistic shot at the NBA becasue of Muggsy Bogues? Every one handed person thin k he can be a successful pitcher because of Jim Abbott?

Let's be real Dame made Jay-Z, then those in power said we can't control Dame we gonna get him out of here. Then they gave Jay his scraps. Roc-A-Wear dead, Roc-a-Fella dead, Armadale dead. Jay-Z wan't even promoting Roc-A-Wear, he was talking bout Evisu when Roc-A-Wear was at it's apex.

I don't want my bosses job, nor salary. While he is salaried, I can make more than my boss with overtime and bonuses and I don't have to babysit any employees, or explain the actions of other adults to coporate dikkheads who are out of touch with reality.
