not everyone has “ideal” parents so I can’t judge...quite a few teaching experiences dealing w/ parents has made me realize there are some fukked up ppl out there and sometimes the only way to flourish/prosper is to get away from them or keep them away from you...sometimes parents confuse that “title” for being able to treat (or better yet mistreat) their children however they see fit and still expect that title to be upheld

She was real toxic and verbally abusive brehs. She was also physically abusive when I was a youngin’ But that’s most black moms. She never changed as I grew older as far as narcissism and arrogance. She did something today that cost me a lot(and I mean ALOT) of bread then blamed me like I’m the one who fukked up. I said something like “see that’s why I don’t come around often. When you gonna grow up and learn how to speak to people”. She started going off with the insults and shyt talk and told me she never wants to hear from me again. I said “bet”. Numbers blocked and everything.

sometimes it needs to be done...if she has any decency about her/true love for you she will go out of her way to keep in touch w/ you EVEN IF you are not receptive to it initially

Second of all, maybe in whatever culture you come from family is sacred but you’re not AA so you’re not regulating anything down here. In American culture, children are treated like accessories, people don’t put any thought into who they impregnate or who they let impregnate them. People are often times part time parents. People don’t look out for their children to the extent people in African or Asian cultures do. It’s extremely common for parents to not give their children the wisdom or resources to make it in this world while raising them and then throw them on the street at 18/19 years old. How are we supposed to treat parents as sacred deities when so many parens have such a dismissive view of their own children? It has to go both ways and it’s up to parents to lead by example and often times, they don’t
