Got off work late today, missed the gym smh
Had to cut my workout short so i don't miss a flight, only got halfway through squats before having to stop.

Happens to the best.

Happens to everybody, hopefully my hotel in LA has a gym I can at least finish bench and barbell rows

the days you dont go to the gym, start doing body weight squats, pushups and pull ups.

it will help with your form and strength @ the gym

Yea there’s this pushup/pull-up program i follow on the days i don’t go to the gym

Nothing can substitute that feeling of pumping iron though :wow:

First day back banged out 135 lb squat, 80 lb oh press, 165 lb deadlift

It feels good that my workouts are getting a little intense now. Felt proud of myself loading some 45s on the barbell to do squats and then being drenched in sweat after banging them out :wow:

Legs low key felt like noodles when i got through my deadlifts :whoo:

I've been seriously gymming (as in attending consistently) for about 2.5-3 years and I never made more gains, strength improvements, cardiovascular etc. than I did when I did the 5x5.

Keep it up and always strive to up the weight even by the tiniest increment every workout.

I'm always mixing it up; I return to the 5x5 every so often and in fact will do so soon because I only want to focus on strength gains more than hypertrophy at this point.

I normally do 3 sets and divide the body groups e.g. back x triceps, chest x biceps, shoulders etc.

I mix up the rep range. For strength obviously low reps. Hypertrophy about 8-12 reps. Endurance and toning about 20+ reps. I don't really have a strict schedule right now. I'm doing a lot of cardio nowadays too.

My knees feel a little achy is that normal ?

What's your full 5x5 programme? Are you also doing bench press and barbell row?

Regarding your knees, not really normal. Probably from the squats I imagine. Could be form related. Positioning of your feet in relation to the knee as you drop down. Maybe you're tall? You want to minimise knee pressure as much as possible but that whole thing about having your front toes behind your knee as you drop down is sort of a myth. Do whatever makes you comfortable so long as your stance is solid, back straight, weight on the heels as you drop down etc.

Yea i downloaded the app to follow whatever it tells me to do

And i think you’re right. I stand shoulder width my toes pointed out slightly. Keeping it straight doesn’t feel comfortable and it prevents me from going ATG. I just really started feeling it tho
