realized i forgot to vote lol.....anyway, i think just got swizz...he was on swizz ass something serious....he didnt let up until busta came in, that's when swizz started making a comeback...even then, just was able to recover and close the deal...a sports game analogy: just got a big lead early, swizz made a run to make it close, but just was able to keep the lead and win comfortably...

think people are giving it to swizz based off other things than just the beats......him being a showman, and the fact the people in the room were clearer on his side, helps make him look better...but if you go off the beats only, just got him....

LOL He does not do that. He has other people make the beats from inception to completion but I won't argue with you.
Quik is a producer, Dre is liar.

Also not anyone can't sit on a mpc and knock out beats. As I said as far as hiphop goes the producer is the one who makes the beats and if syou got producers working under you and you take the credit for their beats you have ghost producers. It's one thing to have someone come in and play keys once you have an ideal but can't play it or something like that but to have people making beats for you and then you do tweaks and claim it, that's fake and those other people should be credited as co-producers.

THIS IS A COMMON NOTION THAT UNINTELLIGENT FOLKS WHO ARE IGNORANT TO THE ART OF PRODUCTION USUALLY HAVE

THIS IS A COMMON NOTION THAT UNINTELLIGENT FOLKS WHO ARE IGNORANT TO THE ART OF PRODUCTION USUALLY HAVE

Brother, I'm not ignorant. The great George Clinton who was the producer for Funkadelic(check the AVI) was an amazing producer and production in most art forms or genres of music pretty much entails overseeing the creation of the music. George Clinton told Eddie Hazel his mom died when they preformed the tittle track maggot brain and the guitar performance Eddie laid was so powerful he decided to take all the other instruments out the recording and make it a guitar solo. Producers make decisions like this because they manage the recording, the takes of the song and help bring the music to life. They usually have the final say so of whats on the recording.

However in hiphop, producers typically just means beatmaker and they most of the time make the beats their self. Now you can have others come and play piano here, guitar there but you got to make the beats for the most part. Sometimes all the producer does in hiphop is send out the beats because their is a culture of collaborating by email. Now I feel hiphop should adopt more of the aspects of the roles that producers from other genres of music take on. Most of the times the artist are their own producers or an engineer helps out a lot more than we would realize and the producer is just the beatmaker. This is something that should change and why I feel producers in hip hop should be more like other producers from different genres.

With this said, you can argue Dre is a producer in the sense of other genres but in the realm of hiphop he has ghost producers much like Kanye. This is similar to that art of collaborating in song writing, in most genres of music it's okay. In hiphop if you have others writing your rhymes, even if they are credited they are considered ghostwriters and your work is discredited.

With that said, Dre has ghost producers withing the context of the culture of hiphop and that's how it is. Don't get mad, get glad bags!:dame:

HOMIE, ITS HIP-HOP THAT GOT THE DEFINITION FUCCED UP.. BECAUSE NONE OF THEM BEATMAKERS GOT SHIIT ON WHAT DRE DOES. ASK SOME1 LIKE KHALIL, HE WILL TELL U THAT WHAT DRE DOES TO ONE OF HIS BEATS CHANGES THE ENTIRE DYNAMIC OF IT. ITS WHY NONE OF HIS SESSION PLAYERS/PRODUCERS CAN EVER MAKE A BEAT ON THE LEVEL OF A DRE BEAT ON THEIR OWN .. AND DONT GET IT TWISTED, DRE HAS MADE MANY BEATS FROM SCRATCH. BUT WHAT HE DOES IS SO MUCH MORE THAN THAT. EVEN WHEN QUIK N DRE GOT TOGETHER FOR "PUT IT ON ME", IT WAS LABELED A DRE BEAT, WIT QUIK'S FULL BLESSING. DRE IS A MASTERMIND IN THE STUDIO, HE IS THE TRUE DEFINITION OF A PRODUCER. ANYONE WHOS EVER WORKED WIT HIM WILL VOUCH FOR THAT.

You don't know who Dj Quik is. Quik could play stuff from Rythmalism and stuff he has done with Suga Free and others.

Dude could even play stuff he done for Dre lol. Let's be real here man.

Quik > Dre

Quik produced on All Eyez On Me btw..

I say Quik is better, I'm not sure if he ever said Dre was better bit it is what it is.

Dre is good but I'm using the hiphop definition still, Dre got Ghost producers and I prefer Quik.

We are gonna have to agree to disagree fam. I mean think about it, Quik has made amazing beats on his own, Battle Cat has made amazing beats on his own, Scott Storch has some dope stuff he did on his own and I could go on. Dre has a good ear but nah fam.

Swizz lost me a couple times with shyt like that Nas 'General' joint and that 'Big Business' which was always trash... but this kinda disproves the myth that Swizz is trash. He just has this tendency to be either super-hot or super-wack... there's no in the middle with him, lol. That said, Just must've forgotten to pull out some of the heavy hitters cause otherwise, he fukked up there. He didn't drop any wack shyt, but he kept a lot of the joints that could've smashed at home.
