Re-watched this again last night
Some things I noticed. It's clear Just Blaze won this battle. I'm actually shocked the Coli thought it was even. Blaze just had too many hits and was the better DJ. The way he would start with the sample and flip to the beat was nasty. Swizz near the end lost steam musically, his beats started sounding repetitive, his cuts on his records weren't smooth at times and subtracted from his overall performance, and he was mostly pumped up by his crowd and his own enthusiasm. Just Blaze on the other hand gave a great performance from a DJ perspective, and he actually cut a few of his turns short when he could have easily kept going and poured it on. At the end of the day Blaze was a better DJ and had better songs, just TOO many bangers executed TOO well.
-Just Blaze is super humble on the tables and Swizz is super cocky. Interesting contrast in personality.
-Alicia Keyes fine self in the background
-That sh*t turned into a legit house party. Sh*t looked LIT.
-That dude that kept adjusting the knobs on Swizz's board, bro wtf are you doing this is a DJ battle. Swizz had a damn assistant
-That stretch where Swizz played "He's fake" for two minutes straight, sub-no-sub towards Blaze
Overall a great battle. Sh*t is a classic. I'll probably watch it every few months.
