Juiceworld was never gonna see that money anyway

The label and Lil Bibby was gonna get that money if Sting didn’t

There needs to be a balance between protecting artists (in this case I’m referring to Sting) and not stifling the creativity of other artists (Juice Planet).

For decades now a large part of music has been sampling. Sometimes it’s very creative ( :havdahell: )in this instance it’s not.

In 96 the idea of Nas rapping over a Sting sample was pretty out there, but this song is not creative.

Still, they need to change the laws. Artists should be able to take what they want and the sampled artist should get a set percentage. For something like this, Sting should get half. For something where there are multiple samples at work, all the samples artists should split 50%.
They sampled a well known part of one of Sting’s biggest hits. I think people forget how popular Sting was/is. I can see your idea if the song being sampled is not as popular. Man that Sting sample is probably part of the reason the Juiceworld song crosssed over as big as it did thsts one reason I like it.. I like the Sting and Nas versions.

My Pops Forever RIP
This shyt mixed with what Peter Gunz said about the situation makes me look at them as some bytch ass crackas and even got some racist vibes.

They weren't nice about it at all. Apparently, Lord Tariq and Peter Gunz wanted to link up with them at the Grammys onstage and do a mash up collabo but they were being petty. They were so petty, Tatyana Ali had her only hit using that sample and they went after her too, especially once they found out Tariq and Gunz were on that too.

Sting gets that hip-hop /R&B loves his shyt cuz he fukks with it too. So much shyt has been sampled from Sting/The Police.

Shape Of My Heart was really an album cut but that shyt got played at the end of The Professional. Bout to watch that movie again tonight

The Opposite Of Elliott Wilson's Mohawk
This is the type of behavior that caused song sampling to slow down in the mid-2000s onwards. Too much greediness from the original sampled artists and record labels regarding clearances. :francis:
Too much greediness????

Should sampled artists not get paid?????????
