Because my community and I have whored our votes to Democrats at a clip of 85% for the last 50 years. Republicans don’t owe me much, but the politicians that myself, my parents and grandparents have supported owe me something other than lip service and apologies. Tangibles, legislative policy specific for ados is what we are looking for

But why haven't you and your parents voted Republican??? Because Republicans don't give a flying fukk about what you your mama are looking for. They know they don't need your vote to win, and every single policy that they've enacted has shown that.

If this was a Parliamentary government, I get it. Not voting for the majority isn't necessary. But in a first past the post election system, you have to vote with who aligns with your view the MOST. The median voter theorem is a live and well. And Trump voters proved that in 2016.

There are a few ADOS who seem to think they were the only ones to endure slavery. As if Caribbean black were just chilling on the beach 24/7 drinking coconut water with the colonizers. The proper question to ask here is name one major political advancement that was ever made by black folks in the country that required the cooperation of the most white supremacist side of the political spectrum, as opposed to the side more empathetic toward black human rights.

Did the Confederacy fund and enact abolition? Did the political right; the former Dixiecrats and Republicans of the 60's enact civil rights?

That's why ADOS is stupid as fukk. Yall act like Mitch McConnell and Trump rally attendees can be coaxed into enacting reparations.

The ADOS movement does not promote xenophobia. The title is simply used to put forward a justice claim.

Sure it does. It speaks with hostility toward everyone...everyone except the Klan member cacs that fund it. Why can't you support reparations without talking about immigrants? People have made the case for reparations for decades. What is distinct and unique about ADOS is that is uses xenophobic, nativist propaganda in its messaging, and that is not necessary to make a cogent case for reparations. That's because it's a white supremacist psy-op thats intended goal has nothing to do with reparations and everything to do with electoral and court victories for white supremacists.

Tell me, how do black people who have a specific historical tie to this nation distinguish themselves as a group without the ADOS label?

That's a great question. Ok, we don't vote to send the dems a message in 2020 and they lose which empowers/strengthens trump and the republicans. Now for at least 2 more years until 2022 the republicans get to rig the system locally/nationally even more to ensure their power and make it harder for them to be voted out. You then expect the dems to promise black people reparations?
