Gresham is whatever. But I don't think the argument that you're worried about the success of somwthing so you out the belt on Cesaro adds up. The guys not a needle mover -- he's enhancement talent.
Cesaro is a known name coming off of WWE TV for 10+ years and looks like a prototype "World Heavyweight Champion" that can back it up.
If you're pitching for a TV slot then pitching Cesaro as your top guy is much easier than pitching Gresham as your top guy who doesn't have the prototypical look, Especially when he was the top guy when the company almost went under (right or wrong).
It's the same reason why Jeff Jarrett made sure he was champ when TNA got their FS1 and Spike TV deals compared to the rest of the TNA roster at the time.
Funny yall quick to complain about black wrestlers not being in the front but plenty of people cosigning this because of his "size" is crazy. He's not too far off from Adam Cole and the way they fast tracked Claudio at the expense of his career in that way isn't how Champs should be treated
