Gus didn't neutralize his reach, and Gus was able to hit jones because he has skills with his hands that most MMA fighters don't have, cormier wouldn't have get hit with a lot of those punches he caught jones with

It's not downplaying the competition, they are few elite fighters in MMA period, Jons fights everybody there is too fight
henderson was suppose to fight jon for the belt that should tell you all there is to know, shogun was washed up ever since he got to the UFC, machida lost to rampage for goodness sakes, Jones has always been a step above all the comp

there's nobody in the Light heavyweight division who can test cormier except jones, this will go down as the greatest fight in MMA history

Cormier was in line or the Heavyweight title, he's legit, Roy Nelson could beat everybody in the Lightheavy weight division maybe even jones, size matters

Machida caught Jons with an over hand right, Gus caught jones with an overhand right, if cormier lands an overhand right jones is tasting the canvas, that's what makes this fight exciting, we have someone who can physically hurt jones with a single shot

reach is not a factor in MMA, because if he slips one punch, misses one kick, its an opening for him to shoot in for the take down

if jones was a pro boxer he could use his reach to land one finishing blow, but he's not

Sure breh. I'm sure Gus being the same size(maybe taller im not sure) has nothing to do with it. Gotta love how you are downplaying Jones guys and hyping Cormier. Machida is still a good fighter. Hendo was still serviceable when he was scheduled to fight. And now Roy could beat Jones? The one dimensional power striker with the non existent BJJ whos absolutely worthless against a semi competent striker and biggest win is Cro Cop? Hes not that big, even for the LHW. Same as DC. Sure. Glover has probably the heaviest hands at 205 and Jones barely blinked, but DC who really doesn't have KO power is going to floor him. Once again, boxing skills have nothing to do with natural power? If so, why aren't the Diaz bros finishing every fight?

keep getting emotional when faced with opinions that differ to yours, rampage aswe know has got a granite chin and when machida put hands on him in the 3rd he was reeling, dont recall anytime in the ufc that happened before that..Hes basically unloaded his offensive arsenal in his last 2 fights and both mousasi/weidman were undeterred

His strength and power has shown to be as good in the MW division as it was in the LHW division. There isn't sufficient evidence to say otherwise and it's nonsense to say 'he has no punching power and strength'.

The fight was a slit decision, Machida did run through him like he did randy

and we all saw cormier dismantle henderson like nobody else has ever done

You must be kinda new to the sport. Jones submitted hendo first time in hendo career and re read what I said not the current machida but the one who fought jones currently machida to me wouldn't pose too much of a threat to Cormier back then I think he would have

It wasn't just size, jones got hit by rashad and machida, and glover. Gus has an extensive boxing background, and was able to hurt jones with punches he's never felt before, he couldn't see them coming from the angles, because he's boxing defense is terrible, it seems he has been working on that.

Roy Nelson is not one dimensional you moron, just because he likes to stand up, you notice all his fights are standing because nobody can take him down not even cormier, roy is a true MMA artist as far as being able to do everything

jones never fought hendo, but I have no doubt he would submit

machida does not stand a chance against cormier, he would get manhandled and choked

Machida can't beat Cormier anyway posible he would get finishd, Gus would be a closer fight, but cormier is better
rashot, is finished,

jones will be tested and will need all his skills in this fight, he looks to be as big as he ever looked, which is good thing for him, I know he's been preparing for DC for some time

I would favor Cormier, but to say 'Machida can't beat Cormier anyway possible, he would get finished' is downright stupid.

I stand corrected I am thinking of silva rear naked choke.

Machida didn't flinch against weidman you think he's flinching against Cormier?

Gus has an 80 inch reach advantage in addition to being 6'5. His size was a factor and you can keep denying it all you want but its true. Roy is one dimensional. If he can't KO you in the first round, he gasses and is beatable. LOL@nobody taking him down. Comier did take him down. Mir won their shytty fight with his TD's.

Jones has an 84 inch reach the same as Ali, so he still had a reach advantage over Gus, it's not the reach, gus was the only fighter jones face who could throw hands

Roy is not dimensional, he has wrestling, a black belt in BJJ, and his trained by jeff Mayweather in boxing

Roy is 250, its a whole different league man why do you think they have weight classes, we've never seen jones against anyone that big, so he would have to prove himself moving to heavyweight

Cormier never lost a round at heavyweight, and he was fighting bigger people

jones lost a round to machida who is much smaller

Like said Cormier is the best fighter to fight Jones, this is the only UFC worth seeing in person at the moment

Stop it, machida would not be a challenge for cormier

I'm not sure about the current machida but the one who fought jones might. Anyway jack this is a moot point. Jones will beat dc that's the bottom line. If it's the best fighter we have seen him go against that has yet remained to be seen.
