The 2021 warriors were Steph and Draymond with fringe NBA talent, most of whom aren’t even in the league. In addition, before curry got hurt, they were on pace for the 5 seed that year. He missed 8 games and the team fell off a cliff.

Embiid being ranked higher than Steph is just nonsense. The nikka can’t even get to the conference finals. The Atlanta hawks made it there twice in the last 7 years

1. Giannis
2. Curry
3. Embiid
4. Jokic
5. Luka
6. KD
7. Lebron
8. Kawhi (if healthy)

Then add in AD who has top 5 talent. Or Harden if he can bounce back.

A healthy Kawhi is no lower than #3.

Monte Morris and Will Barton see better than 90% of the 2021 roster. Just by themselves. Rivers, Aaron Gordon, hartebstein and javale before being traded, Demarcus, jamychal green is a much better roster. And it’s not even particularly close. Those guys have been in the league for years. We had to depend on Damion Lee and mychal mulder, Brad wannamaker, Kent bazemore, and wiseman for significant minutes

And Steph’s superstar play made those players better. The best years came from playing with Steph. But they weren’t good at all, which is why they fizzled out the league

Steph being a bad defender is all narrative. Every year he gets targeted and every year teams aren’t able to make the warriors pay. Steph may be the worst defender in a lineup of Steph/klay/KD/Iguodala/Draymond, but he’s never been horrible like people like to say.

I understand and I agree the warriors would have been in a higher position seeding wise if Curry didn’t get injured.

But like I said, hypothetically, if Murray and MJP were healthy and Jokic was injured that team is not making the playoffs— I don’t care how solid the roster is.

But if you don’t want to use hypothetical scenarios then yeah Curry has changed the game BUT

with Jokic’s height and weight, with his ability to pass the ball the way he does and the force he brings helping the his teammates

but that doesnt change that Jokic still had a pretty damn good roster around him w/o those 2. That's why the nuggets are considered contenders coming into this season. Jokic is the lone star, proving that the team is leagues above whatever the fukk Steph was playing with the 2 seasons before this
