Dude don't got to pass and turn his game into Jokic's, but KAT has racked up assists and shown good court vision before. The guy averaged nearly 4.5 assists with less talent.

Ant is about to go into his third year, probably going to be an all-star and that means plenty of buckets and opportunities for KAT to find him and get his own in the meantime. Three years of chemistry with Ant will probably show this year.

Remember, a big part of assists and playmaking are just about your ability to find your own shot and create shots for yourself which KAT does very well. KAT will find more mismatches this year too because of Gobert imo.

Again, I'm not going to say ultimate favorite for MVP but "dark horse" I don't think is a reach.

I'm a big Jokic and Doncic fan (especially the latter), but no.

Disrespectful to say otherwise after what Curry did vs Boston in the Finals.

It's like climbing Mt. Everest: you can't say you're good enough to climb Mt. Everest until you've actually climbed it.

Some of those shots and passes Curry made in the Finals when games were up for grabs are plays we have not seen the other two make yet.

That's the thing:
You got to prove that you can carry at the highest level first.
You got to prove you don't get rattled when the world is watching.
Every single game in the Finals is pretty much "clutch time".
Big difference compared to regular season awards.

For example, Jokic's assist numbers drop heavy during the play-offs, while Curry's stays about at his average.

People didn't want to give Curry credit for 2015, then no credit for 2017 nor 2018. Now they give him full credit for 2022 after carrying one and winning against full-powered teams, rightfully so. Now people want to give Luka and Jokic credit for not even reaching the Finals? Keep the same energy. If it's that difficult to get that kind of acknowledgement, then those two (and Embiid) are far from that level - shouldn't even be in the same tweet.

Bottom line, outside of Curry, only Giannis has proven it recently.

Also for me defensible Jokic and Steph both are average. Jokic being average (below average IMO) hurts the Nuggets way more than Steph being average affects the Warriors. Teams in the playoffs were able to attack the basket since Jokic isn’t that great of a rim protector. Offensively I think him and Steph are the two best l. I’d take Steph over him just for his gravity.

I would have Curry over Jokic but I don’t think it’s outrageous as you guys will make it seem.

Yeah Curry won it all last year but what seeding was the Warriors when the team was injured the year prior?

Did Jokic not win his second MVP without his two best players?

But why do people act like Jokic without Jamal and MPJPLS still didn’t have decent nba role players?

The 2021 warriors were Steph and Draymond with fringe NBA talent, most of whom aren’t even in the league. In addition, before curry got hurt, they were on pace for the 5 seed that year. He missed 8 games and the team fell off a cliff.

Embiid being ranked higher than Steph is just nonsense. The nikka can’t even get to the conference finals. The Atlanta hawks made it there twice in the last 7 years

NBA is really deep talent wise. About 8 players I’d consider for top 5.
1. Giannis
2. Curry
3. Embiid
4. Jokic
5. Luka
6. KD
7. Lebron
8. Kawhi (if healthy)

Then add in AD who has top 5 talent. Or Harden if he can bounce back.

Steph being a bad defender is all narrative. Every year he gets targeted and every year teams aren’t able to make the warriors pay. Steph may be the worst defender in a lineup of Steph/klay/KD/Iguodala/Draymond, but he’s never been horrible like people like to say.

Nobody called Giannis the best player in the world after that Finals run, people were still saying KD at the time
