I’m referring to beating the Knicks & Embiid on one leg . Y’all ATL fans was on high horses going into last season only for people calling that prior playoffs what it was to be proven right

the ATL hawks made it to the conf finals in '15 --> went thru a rebuild --> and then made it back to the conference finals. the 76ers havent been to the conference finals since IVERSON.
Embiid's playoff career is him being Tatum's/Boston's bytch for most of it. Him getting top 5 honors is ridiculous
Personally, I have Joker 3, Luka 4, and Biidy Biid/Tatum at 5
Denver will win 55+ games this upcoming season but they need to make a run. I expect Joker's production to dip a bit but he needs to make it up on def.
Luka is special but he needs to become a Paul Pierce in 08 level defender
Tatum's postseason success & durability is why I can't outright say Biidy Biid should be ranked higher than him
I'm a big Jokic and Doncic fan (especially the latter), but no.
Disrespectful to say otherwise after what Curry did vs Boston in the Finals.
It's like climbing Mt. Everest: you can't say you're good enough to climb Mt. Everest until you've actually climbed it.
Some of those shots and passes Curry made in the Finals when games were up for grabs are plays we have not seen the other two make yet.
Remember going into game 4, Boston was up 2-1 and with 5:00 minutes in the fourth quarter the Celtics were leading 94-90 in Boston as both teams played high-level defense. However, Curry's 10 points during that time (43 points total) made the difference (final score 107-97) and evened the series. That's maybe the pure definition of clutch when it comes to basketball right there. Those other guys may very well have let the series drop 1-3 in the same situation.
That's the thing:
You got to prove that you can carry at the highest level first, against the best defenses.
You got to prove you don't get rattled when the world is watching.
Every single game in the Finals is pretty much "clutch time".
Big difference compared to regular season awards.
For example, Jokic's assist numbers drop heavy during the play-offs, while Curry's stays about at his average.
People didn't want to give Curry credit for 2015, then no credit for 2017 nor 2018. It took until 2022 after carrying and winning against real postseason teams for the guy to get full credit and shut haters down.
Now people want to give Luka, Embiid and Jokic credit for not even reaching the Finals? Keep the same energy. If it's that difficult to get that kind of acknowledgement, then they're far from that level - shouldn't even be mentioned in the same tweet. Recent champions only.
Bottom line, if you want to keep the same standards that Curry had to deal with then it's basically Giannis as the only other one out of that list who has proven it. If that's not he standard, then name whoever tf you want I guess.
To be honest, the debate of where Steph is ranked now is near-meaningless.
He's solidified a legitimate top-10 ever resume, and current player rankings is really beneath where he stands in the game. The same applies to Bron. As the more time goes on, I've come to look at these rankings as more of a discussion on what players can do to stamp their name in the history books, which if you've already done that, it doesn't really matter exactly where you're ranked against [current] players who're still trying to do that.
Flip Curry with Jokic and it’s a solid top 5. Curry and Doncic don’t hurt a defense as much as Jokic does because they’re not Centers and Centers have outsized impact on that end - good or bad

This is also a good point, if Steph is being considered top ten and those guys on the list are not then how can they rank ahead of him? Especially coming off a finals mvp?
Stat nerds don’t understand what actually impacts the game, so they assume these perfect stat lines messes more than what they do
