The trailer didn't look compelling to me, whereas in the first, I was interested immediately. It being a musical didn't help. This is another case of Hollywood trying to get juice from a lemon that was squeezed dry three weeks prior. Everything doesn't need a sequel, and now they've likely killed this entire iteration of the character. Seems like it's impossible for them to let successful films and characters go out on top. They always seem determined to end it all with a whimper.

Already on the fourth page of the Film Room 
I finally saw this yesterday as the first movie in a five-movie marathon (Joker, Piece by Piece, Speak No Evil, We Live in Time, and Saturday Night). The ending had already been spoiled for me for weeks, and think this is one of those times being spoiled actually helped the movie. I was already bracing for the ending so when we got to it I wasn't even mad. I was just confused as to why they took this direction, and who the hell greenlit it, and just generally exhausted by another
DC film. 
The ideas all make some sense, but the execution is so half baked on everything that it all falls flat. Even the musical aspect--I can get it since Arthur sang a little bit in the first movie, and only he and Harley actually sing in the movie, so it makes sense as both the fantasies in his head as well as their 'love language' of sorts, but it feels like they only did it because Lady Gaga was cast and they felt like, "Well, might as well make her sing since we got her in the movie.
