its not even a musical like that. they use the singing to show some delusion happening in real time. i believe they also used it to remind folks that this shyt is just a fukking movie not some signal for anarchy. delusion to break delusion. this shyt is brilliant breh. imho
Even still don't just break out and start singing, I can't get with that.

im happy i went to see this. never listening to reviews again

i loved this joint as much as the first one, mainly i enjoy the way they messaged in both

i dont have time and energy a long analysis, but this movie did everything to correct and clean up the messaging people received from the first joint. even going as far as having authur say what he said right before the verdict. then him being chased a little later (running away from you know who). i believe "that awful tv movie" they keep referencing is about the first movie. like it was literally the movie the characters in this one saw

too many people got the wrong message last time, its very clear this time. a plain straight forward indictment of media

lady gaga was an illustration for folks that took the first one the wrong way. look at how people are reacting to this one already

overall i think this joint is big deliberate slap in the face for those that saw him as a hero from the first movie. and i think they deserved it

I'm interested in this convo, males have long wanted to emulate charismatic villains but I was shocked that some dudes walked away from the first film not only seeing themselves in Arthur but positioning him as a hero

Yeah this shyt pretty much a PSA of hey keep the dumb shyt in la la land in reality this shyt had consequences, being mean to people isn't good (the Gary Puddles scene for example I think mentioned here or on Reddit pretty much told you who Arthur really was as the real Joker wouldmt have had empathy).

I asked AI why the coli hates the movie so much….

The users on the Coli forum thread you provided express several reasons for their dislike of the Joker sequel, Joker: Folie a Deux:

The musical format: Many users dislike the fact that the sequel is a musical. One user states, "I can't stand musicals. Like the movie has to be amazing for me to like it. It starts off at like a -100 off rip compared to a normal movie. When I saw Joker 2 was one, my first reaction was why I'm not surprised people hate it." This sentiment is echoed by other users who feel that the musical format is a departure from the tone and style of the first film.

The perception of the sequel as unnecessary: Some users believe that the first Joker film stood well on its own and did not require a sequel. One user succinctly captures this sentiment with, "Insert a sequel wasn’t needed post."Another user draws a parallel to the film Reasonable Doubt, stating that the negative reception of Joker: Folie a Deuxexemplifies why a sequel to Reasonable Doubt should never be made.

The perceived negative impact on the legacy of the first film: Some users express that the sequel retroactively diminishes their enjoyment of the first Joker film. This is exemplified by a user who states, "One of the rare events in cinema where the sequel literal ruins the first film and its purpose."

Comparisons to other poorly received sequels: The negative reaction to the film leads some users to compare it to other sequels that are considered inferior to their predecessors. One user states, "I haven’t seen something fall off this bad since GoT," referring to the popular television show Game of Thrones. Another user claims that Joker: Folie a Deux represents "one of the greatest fall offs from original to sequel we’ve ever witnessed in modern cinematic history."
AI quoting you is some next level shyt :russ:

They can't make a Joker movie, an extremely popular character on his own, show the world treats him like ish, show him get his comeuppance, and not expect people to be captivated. It just doesn't happen. If they wanted to portray a character study on everything people hate in an evil character that they're drawn to, he needed to do more evil ish...things that weren't redeemable. He needed to be on some Joffrey ish...or some traditional Joker. So, I'm not buying that defense.

However, the movie was an "undoing" of the first, but I think only due to them not having a good plot/script. Ok, they want a sequel, let's do the first in reverse. I honestly don't even think they cared about the message. All they really said was that this is not the Joker you're familiar with...or any Joker.

I enjoyed it but can understand why others may not. Gave it a second watch in IMAX 70mm and enjoyed it more. The IMAX sound system helped the musical parts of the movie. In the regular viewing they felt kinda flat. (May have just been my theater).

Cinematography was amazing.
Acting was great.
Production Design was well done.
Story and ending very polarizing.

If WB spent over 200 million dollars making a movie people don’t want, to “correct” an incorrect narrative from the 1st movie……..then shyt they got a ton of problems over there.

Jesus Christ.

Much better ways to spend 200 million than trolling incels.

To be fair, I think it is Todd Phillips trolling the incels.

It’s amazing how we all get over our collective comic book fatigue anytime DC puts product out… And then the movie still sucks anyway.

No anti-marketing campaign needed.

All i hear about this flick is that it tells you you were a bad person for liking the first joker. How fukking LAME.

I aint watching this off the strength of that. Hollywood is fukking weird. Blow millions on vanity. Dont even make sense. Tired of his mass control of thought BS.

I dont need to be told how to think

Dude talking about above

“Cleared up the messaging”

What messaging? Its was a fukking MOVIE. Noone killed randos based on that flick. The dark knight had ONE GUY shooting up movie theathres not THE JOKER so idk what they even talking about. So all that weirdo pandering bs im not with it. You must be a fukkin alien to not watch the joker and not find it relatable seeing someone abused and abused until they break. Noones going on tv killing people so idk what they tryna say that “the message was bad”. Corny hollywood elitism, “the public loved him. How could they?! We have to change how they THINK”. fukk YOU.

Theyll cry about joker and its violence and then show a man being raped to make you not wanna identify with him. Its all elitist bs mind plays to make you feel bad about what you like and think. Im good on that. Thats not why I goto the movies to be preached to. Its all good as long as it fits their little narrative.

yall are weird as fukk falling for that stuff and talking about its a good thing. Stip being a p*ssy
