Still haven’t seen it. I ended up reading multiple detailed spoilers that described the whole thing. I’m not much of a DCU fan outside of the old stuff, Nolan flicks, and some of the comics.

On paper it works…
I don’t know where people are getting the “it’s telling me how to think” stuff from. I guess I’ll have to watch for myself. It seems like the story is to show Arthur is a murderous fukk up, but not “The Joker” we see in a normal Batman universe. He’s the root and inspiration THE joker, who is likely the dude who stabs him. It seems to help the future DCU in big picture kind of way. It explains why Arthur is so much older than Bruce Wayne and is an otherwise normal dude with serious mental health problem, not the budding Super criminal force that becomes THE Joker.

I don’t mind musicals. I’m mostly curious about how the plot works in motion.

These film's never was intended to be connected to any DCU film past, present or future. Nor was Arthur ever supposed to be the classic Joker we know but an alternate take on his origins and that was explained before the first film dropped.
Arthur inspired chaos, his end was due to him rejecting his people and them ultimately rejecting him.

I was just going with what the director said after this most recent movie. It makes sense for the casual movie goer

After letting the stink wear off i can kinda see what the movie was trying to portray. Everybody hyped up Arthur to be this bigger than life anti hero and the musical parts being the delusion and his reality being shytty rotting in prison. I guess that can be a meta view of this film if its even that deep that the first was just hyped up garbage. Even Gaga didnt want to fukk with him after he broke the fantasy and she gave Joker the twat not arthur.

If she really was pregnant that lil nikka with be the real joker cause his family story is fukked up

im happy i went to see this. never listening to reviews again

i loved this joint as much as the first one, mainly i enjoy the way they messaged in both

i dont have time and energy a long analysis, but this movie did everything to correct and clean up the messaging people received from the first joint. even going as far as having authur say what he said right before the verdict. then him being chased a little later (running away from you know who). i believe "that awful tv movie" they keep referencing is about the first movie. like it was literally the movie the characters in this one saw

too many people got the wrong message last time, its very clear this time. a plain straight forward indictment of media

lady gaga was an illustration for folks that took the first one the wrong way. look at how people are reacting to this one already

overall i think this joint is big deliberate slap in the face for those that saw him as a hero from the first movie. and i think they deserved it
Nikkas don't see Arthur as a hero and this is part of the reason nikkas cooking the movie for the pretentious slop that it is

Some of y'all working yourselves into a shoot trying to moralize and politicize some shyt thats not even happening on any realistic level

This is no different than the first movie when the media was saying the movie would radicalize the incels and "movie theaters are upping security at Joker screenings". Then what happened? The movie came out and none of the fear mongering came true

Now here we are with this pretentious ass 2nd movie and the nikkas that love sounding smart talking about pretentious shyt. And it's all based on these half baked ideas about how y'all want Arthur Fleck to be perceived because it makes you feel good about slapping imaginary people in the face

Nikkas trying too hard to be smart over a glorified snuff film
