Is this finally going to air?
According to IMDB the episodes have been shot
This. You're a writer and director and this is the BEST you can do? I'm sick of talking about hood struggles, scandals and street gangs. Make some new shyt. Black science fiction film or somethingthis is why I tell ya'll fukk television...u mean after making aclassic movie like higher learning, your going to do a film on crack?

I haven't watched one episode of Narcos or Boardwalk Empire. I haven't even seen one episode of Get Down. The capable black filmmakers and lack of quality ideas is my point. How many times can you talk about crack and where it started, or is that the only thing you niccas would like to see on screenBut if we watch Narcos that's ok? So is Boardwalk Empire? So is the Get Down. I mean I can go on and on. You want black sci if make it yourself or check Octavia Butler.
a lot of the brehs in here are intellectually lazy at best, or just weak.I don't get this. The power of television allows you to tell familiar stories differently. The Sopranos isn't a mob show. The Wire isn't a cop show. They transcended their subgenres to create brilliant television that touched on multiple aspects of society. Why can't a black man do the same with what clearly will NOT just be "a drugs/street" show?
A show about a 60's advertising firm. That's it. High ratings and too many Emmy awards to count.
A show about hackers, mental illness and other shyt that doesn't involve busting guns and moving dope. Hottest TV show to come out this year.
It's not impossible to make compelling, quality television that doesn't involve cliched stereotypes. But at the end of the day, it's on the viewers. We need to demand variety and quality. Cats be on some "I'm just happy to be here" shyt when a predominately black show comes out. Power is trash. Empire is trash. Ballers is kinda trash. They're all entertaining, but they're not all that good. I cringe when I see nikkas call them the best shows on TV. The greatest TV show of all time is a predominately black show. Yeah, there was drugs and violence in that show but it's probably the best social study I've seen in the fiction format. Let's have some standards and sooner or later those standards will be met.
