Don't wrestling in general has this problem tho, not just WWE ?

In the recent days since this story was done about WWE and the whole Independent Contractors thing on John Oliver's show, I've been trying to figure out something that's been racking my brain the last couple of days. Not to sound like a " WWE apologist" or nor I'M IN DEFENSE OF WWE, I just want to know why is WWE being singled out in this type of a situation. To my knowledge beside AEW, I don't know of any of company in the world that has a health care plan in place for their wrestlers (if there is please let me know). I just think that the piece should have focus on wrestling as a whole and not just WWE.
Because the WWE has monopolized themselves and is looked at as the standard bearer in all of wrestling. If the WWE already had a union and such long ago, other smaller feds would have as well. Plus, a lot of these other feds are legitimately independent contractor companies. It’s why they can be apart of PWG, ROH, Impact, etc all at the same time.
So yes, you do sound like a WWE apologist, but unlike others, you actually realize it.
Youre almost always wrong, the fact you always seem surprised about it says a lotWell shyt maybe I'm wrong lol
John says Roman Reigns looks like a pedophile
He did a good job with actually coming across like a casual wrestling fan whilst ripping McMahon to pieces. Doubt if this will get any traction though... people have tried before... sadly the fans are generally happier to pat themselves on the back for a GoFundMe effort after someone's broken down than get involved in anything that felt even remotely pinko commie socialist like workers rights.
Lowkey surprised he went for Roman so hard given the last few months, but
He would've lost credibility if it was just a rant from someone who doesn't like the product. To hear someone who understands the entertainment behind it give this opinion provides the validity it needs.Yea, he told no lies but at the same time gave them credit for being entertaining. Its rare in the "hot take" era to see someone be non biased in their POV. He seems like a level headed fan
Exactly,He would've lost credibility if it was just a rant from someone who doesn't like the product. To hear someone who understands the entertainment behind it give this opinion provides the validity it needs.
honestly if i told my boss i had cancer he'd prob respond "so you'll be in tomorrow, right?"Saw this last night, when Vince snapped back in the interview asking why so many wrestlers die under the age of 45 with "why don't you ask yourself that question?"
Knowing these stories is one thing but hearing that Punk story and realizing Roman just beat cancer and went right back to work is insane. As much as I love wrestling, Vince does treat them like circus acts. Honestly, why are they not considered employees at this point?
