He came up with the idea for the ad and directed it with influence from his personal life. The problem isnt that they reshot the ad for a Chinese market, the problem is that they never told him that they were doing it or ask him if it was ok.
He might have reshot the shyt himself with Chinese actors if they would have came to him first. Or he might have told them to fukk off. Either way the shyt is disrespectful.

The process occurring (that special needs kids like Dorian Ghey, CHAOS_66 and ChodeKansas have a hard time understanding) is white/Jewish companies first make assumptions about Chinese audiences, then base their profit-squeezing business decisions on those assumptions and finally have white/Jewish media cover for them by deflecting the blame onto the audiences they made assumptions about when their decisions are exposed.
No one can has ever produced legitimate evidence Chinese people riot when black actors or actresses appear in Western companies' movies or commercials. Some perpetually-stupid dummies may give white/Jewish people the benefit of the doubt, but I'm gonna need more than just white folk's accusations before I go along with them.
