Several Republican states 'overwhelmy' voted against Biden and still supported things like $15 minimum wage, stimulus checks, legal marijuana and Medicare expansion.
I guess Manchin should have voted against the American Rescue Plan since West Virginians overwhelmingly voted against that too.
If you had said that they might want these things, but don't necessarily want them from a Democrat, so Manchin has to push back so it doesn't look like a liberal wishlist, I might buy that, but you're not even making any sense.

Then the logical argument SHOULD be that Republican voters should hold their representatives accountable for not supporting these initiatives.

I wish but they’ll be comfortable regardless who’s running the government. They’ll lazily defend Biden and maybe even Manchin here. If it was bare fukking minimal then they would have done it earlier.
No matter how obvious we think legislation is, if it's "more liberal than anything they've done before" then it's progressive by definition. But that's neither here nor there. My main point is that I don't understand the logic of punishing other Democrats for Manchin's behavior.
Same way we shyt on cops for allowing the bad behavior of another cop.
