Joe Manchin: I won’t vote for For The People Act or Weaken/Eliminate Filibuster!

Is the Democrats’ legislative agenda finished in the Biden era?

Run 3 times to be president to not care about anything especially the thing you've always cared about the most, your legacy brehs. #ColiLogic

Do you terrible posters have some type of bat signal (pun intended) that you send up to rally each other?
:smugbiden:"Look upon my works, ye mighty, and and and, uh... and uh... you know, the thing."

So far so good right? What's his legacy so far as president? $2000 checks? Nope. $15 minimum wage? Nope. Even an attempt at a public healthcare option? Nope. Filibuster reform? Nope. Strengthening voting rights? Nope. Police teform? Nope.
I know this is the rope a dope. He's playing like he's not going to do anything and just bombard us with legislation passes later. lol
I guess it’s all a big conspiracy then and Biden is in cahoots with manchin to make sure that literally nothing gets done and they lose the little political leverage they have by being voted out in the midterms and 2024, that seems more plausible you are right :ehh:

That guy is just real special, hence why I don’t waste key strokes on him. You have to keep in mind this is his 71st alt account.

They are supposed to be in cahoots they are in the same party. lol What's the point of parties then? :mjlol:
The leader of the party the president has 0 sway and can't offer Manchin anything to fall in line? That's more believable to you?
No matter if a Republican or Democrat controls Congress/the presidency Biden and Manchin will be fine. It's no personal risk to them to lose an election.

So we've established he's wishy washy.

The sky isn't falling, he's just all in on his bipartisanship schtick at the moment. :unimpressed:
I don't think the sky is falling but I think whoever said he supported it when it had no chance of passing hit it on the head. There is no down side politically to do that. You can get the optics of supporting it but then also know it has no chance to pass. Now that Democrats, if they wanted to, can pull the levers to get this shyt passed by getting rid of the filibuster and pass it with a simple majority, now there are concerns.

Its not a simple case of being wishy washy and just doing what he feels like in the moment without any consistency. The consistency is that Manchin and whatever cowardly silent Democratic coalition he has backing him and willing to let him take all the punches may want this on paper but they don't want it bad enough to do everything that needs to be done to get it passed.

Its politics and politics is the art of BS. Democratic voters are being toyed with right now and the media is constantly feeding them the intended narrative to play them which is that if it wasn't just for 1 or 2 people, this would pass. Again, several folks are saying he isn't alone. He is out there on purpose to distract folks and draw all their fire while other Democratic senators who support him can be protected from political pushback. The reality is that Manchin is not in danger of losing his seat to a more liberal member of the party so he can take all the attacks and not suffer any political consequences.

:whoa: I already said you’re right. Biden been trying to be President for 30 years so he can finally get to do nothing while unceremoniously having his party be voted out under his watch.

He realized the only way to do this was to have manchin block everything he actually didn’t want to get done.

Politics, especially the presidency, isn’t about ego or legacy at all and Biden wants his name to be remembered as the guy who did nothing and ushered in the GQP era

And people said he was demented :russ: sounds genius to me :obama:

Obama (while Biden was his VP) lost a supreme court nomination, Congress and let his successor be a political novice who isn't that bright. When you see him nowadays does he look sad or is he smiling like he won the life lottery? :usure:
