rae was also average on can it be all so simple, ghost made that track what it was.

the reason i brought up the purple tape is because i'm sure you think highly of it and shyt on nas for it was written because of his performace, when his perfomance was better than rae's on the purple tape.

on top of that, illmatic nasty nas purtists just hang on to the one or 2 flaws on it was written(nas is comming and smoothed out production which i don't see as a flaw, especially if he sounds better on that type of production) and overlook everything he did better.

rae and ghoist are much different rappers than the mcs listed. comparing cuban linx to iww?

that album wreaked of fake big time "mafioso" biting while cuban linx basically cemented rae as a legend despite "sucking on criminology". illmatic is def better than iww. rae was better on immobilarity lyrically too, thats not why people like cuban linx (and not just cuz rza either)

As an unbiased Nas stan, to me IWW is superior to Illmatic.

Maybe because it's the first album that I didn't just listen to, but I studied it. I was 12. Everyday, I played that album in 96 was like a school project. I would listen to Nas rhymes intuitively, then read the lyrics inside the CD booklet. Hearing and seeing this lyrical masterpiece left a lasting impression. To this very day IWW is my favourite Nas album of all time.

nas wasnt "esco" on illmatic, aka a dramatic shift in character. it went from "one love" to him and his boys sticking dudes in the projects.looking back at it with the corny pink suits and casino characters, i gotta call it that. lets not even talk how NAS continued that corniness all the way to the firm album.

rae and ghost came into hip hop that cuban linx rae and ghost; and helped set the trend nas went with. cuban linx was written out the country. raekwon and ghost were actual drug dealers, nas became escobar because of the times. cuban linx is rae/ghosts purist album as illmatic is nas'

and nas was rapping his ass off on it was written, it just wasnt what people expected at the time of him from what I remember
