I never bought that Joe was "doing this for Hip Hop" or to bring some MC out of Drake.

Drake is doing what he thinks is best for him. Hip Hop doesn't need him to be something he's not. The pop shyt is what he's chosen. We don't need him. So I don't get why Budden would be so invested in the direction that someone else is taking with their music. If Drake wanted to invest in Hip Hop, he would've done so a long time ago. I can't fukk with a dude that needs to be forced into being more Hip Hop. That's not authentic. He's not built like the greats we see as dope MC's. No amount of disses is gonna change that.

Yeah I think Joe is being a little passive aggressive with his true motives. He's using the "doing this for Hip Hop" as a cover, and its a GOOD cover, because again drake is a joe fan and Drake at his core is into this rap shyt. And Joe has been straight hoe'ing him up lyrically so you know thats got to fukk with Drake too.

You're right about Drake has chosen the pop path, but he still keeps his leg in this rap shyt. He engaged in the Meek shyt, he still throws little shots at Puffy and Hov and shyt. Thats the thing. He's leaning so heavily in the pop lane yet still tries to throw out his ghostwritten rap verses dissing nikkas like he's holding rank. And at this point its clear Joe isn't the only rapper that's annoyed by it. So Joe is able to use that "doing it for Hip Hop" as a cover because in some way I think Drake still wants to be in this rap shyt in some manner. But if he doesn't engage with Joe, he's pretty much 100% in that pop realm. Joe isn't that popular but he's still known to anybody over 21 or so, and his disses have been getting coverage and mostly positive feedback. If Drake truly doesn't care about having any respect as a rapper that you're right, nothing anybody disses him about will matter because if he isn't personally bothered it doesnt matter. Meek calling him out clearly bothered him personally. Joe saying views was wack clearly bothered him personally, thats why the No Shopping verse. So you can only assume Joe's disses are bothering him personally.

As for Joe, Im sure he has some personal motives as well. Obviously if he gets into full blown beef with Drake that helps his popularity, and he probably doesn't like Drake anymore personally as much as he used too. I think they used too hang out, and Drake probably acts like he don't know him anymore IRL.

They did, there's several pictures of them together besides the Joe Budden TV interview. But let The Coli tell it Joe never met Drake.

Who the fukk are you, the diss record police? :what:

Drake dissed Budden on "No Shopping". Budden heard it, dropped "Making A Murderer" and "Wake". "No Shopping" actually drops, and Budden drops "Afraid".

How are you trying to set a limit on how many times someone can respond to a rap beef they didn't start?

This is especially odd since Drake dropped two disses before Meek responded, over the fact that he don't write his own shyt. I don't want to hear nothing from Drake fans concerning rap beefs.

Fred.
You think I'm a Drake fan? :what:

I didn't even know he responded on wax. So it's 3-1 when it comes to actual songs? Dude dropped 2 dis tracks BEFORE the actual dis track came out? :mjlol:

You're cool when it comes to TFR, but in here you're coming off :patrice:

Rap dis tracks used to go back and forth. This is just coming off desperate.

And people need to stop bringing up that corny "beef" with Drake/Meek. shyt was preschool status. :camby:

True. Im willing to bet Drake just doesn't make time to keep up with Joe as a friend anymore, and Joe is mad about that. Either way, at least someone is lyrically breaking down how much of a hoe drake is. If Hov would've did this :wow:

What's funny about this "beef" is that on any normal day, these are two corny dudes that Hip Hop heads have continuously clowned their whole career. Nas said it best, "People have an issue with Drake's success." So if we're being honest, cats will side with whoever disses him. But I can't pretend to be a Budden fan overnight because I find Drake annoying. LOL!!

Back in the Mood Musik days, I thought Budden was on his way, but dude's kinda wasted his talent on subpar music his whole career. Got washed on every track Slaughterhouse did, clearly the weakest link. And Drake is an anomaly, seems like a parasitic dude who plays rapper when it's convenient, but has learned how to craft hits and build relationships to stay visible when it counts. But there's nothing about him that looks authentic or even Hip Hop. So for heads like me, this is like the fight you saw at school, with the two nerdy dudes who no one cared about, so you just kept walking by.

Link to when Nas said this??

I'm coming off fine in here, you sound crazy is all. How is it Joe's fault Drake didn't have songs ready, like he did with Meek? If Budden waited and that happened people would say he's a fool. If he don't wait and drops multiple diss records people say he's desperate. I don't even like Budden but some of yall only want this to go one way.

if Hov done it it would have been cold and just better.
would have been a nice way to book end Jay's Light Up verse too.

Budden just sounds like he wants the woman he used to know back.

Joe break down in detail pretty much all the hoe shyt Drake be about. Lyrically you can't just act like Joe came weak or didn't say shyt.

But yeah if Hov would've said all the same shyt Joe said he definitely would've done it in a better way. and Hov is Hov so Drake couldn't just ignore it

Are we serious here?

So Joe Budden hears that Drake is supposed to diss him on a French Montana son. Instead of waiting, he gets Pro active and gets it rolling by dissing Drake first and keeps going at him

Turns out Joe is right and Drake actual does throw some Jabs at Budden which means it's fair game, right?

But somehow Budden is lame because he didn't just sit there and let the most popular rapper out diss him without saying something? :what:

like i said i don't have a problem with him dissing him but i only really like the 2nd diss to keep it all the way honest.

first was a bit too goofy with the forced battle rap lines, the newest one is a decent song with a really good bit in the 2nd verse but i found the overall tone of it as cheesy as people find Drakes records (maybe thats what he was going for)
